North Jersey Hoarder Found Partially Mummified Among Trash, Animal Feces

Police Missed Alice Klee, 68, When They Came Looking; Landlord Found Her

NEW MILFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — It took two months for the remains of a suspected hoarder to be found under all the garbage in her northern New Jersey home.

Police in New Milford described 68-year-old Alice Klee’s apartment as a sad situation, with cat urine, feces, garbage and other items piled wall to wall.

Neighbors said they hadn’t seen her since early February. Authorities went to her home and never found her, leading to a missing persons report.

It wasn’t until Klee’s landlord began cleaning out her unit that her partially mummified body was discovered under her own garbage and clothes.

Relatives said she was a hoarder.

Robert Kornhaber treats the disorder from his practice in Fort Lee and said it’s often hard for neighbors and relatives to help.

Hoard 'til yer bored.

Old time Yankees hoard, especially the ones that survived the depression.  Living quarters were clean but out buildings, barns, attics and cellars were chock full of stuff.   Trunks full of clothing 50 years old, souveneers from WW1-WW2, all kinds of marvelous strange things from the past generations.

In an old room off the kitchen I found a purse made out of an aramdililo from the 1918's weird thing whole body head to tail.  Never knew what we would find, old cameras were a find especially if there was still film in it to be developed carefully, Ghosts of the past showed up sometimes that had sat in a trunk for 40 years.

This is true hording, the keeping of family close.   The Trash that some hoard is a totally different thing. Old newspapers or bags of garbage is not hording as it has no meaning to the hoarder. This becomes a disorder, big time and if one has cats and dies, the cats will until they find a way to escape will poop everywhere.  Actually I am surprised the cats did not feed off her body.
