They are looking for eyewitnesses or film of someone carrying a heavy black bag.  From what they have collected so far is ball bearings, nails and bits of a dark nylon bag or backpack.


I have a question.  Can they find out the phone numbers?  They know the time of the bombs going off.  Can't they data mine their records to get the called from and called to numbers?

I've heard they are trying to pinpoint the time of the blasts and coordinate that with cell tower records. Given how large the area is that is going to take some time to clear all the numbers on record.

That was noted as soon as they made disclosure pressure cookers were used.  

You look at the delay in blasts, and the affects of that (people running toward the location where the second blast occured).   The packing of the duffle bag with nails, etc. for maximum damage.  

This is not two college students pissed off at the government.  

I don't think this is a wait for their reaction type of sample run either.  I think this is how they can attack, and how they will attack going forward.

(CNN) -- Investigators believe they have identified a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, a source who has been briefed on the investigation told CNN's John King exclusively.

The breakthrough came from analysis of video from a department store near the site of the second explosion. Video from a Boston television station also contributed to the progress, said the source, who declined to be more specific but called it a significant development.

Earlier, a federal law enforcement source with firsthand knowledge of the investigation told CNN that a lid to a pressure cooker thought to have been used in the bombings had been found on a roof of a building near the scene.

I think we are going to be having a bunch of these now.  Best way to invoke fear and tear up an economy is to attack random places (Walmart, fair, Mall) and scare people into going out shopping.  IMO.

I think if there was a widespread network in the US and they weren't afraid suicide acts, then they could easily make random attacks across the country.  They wouldn't need high fatality counts to shut the country down.

A few dozen well timed and coordinated attacks in small and large towns would spread terror.

I think they have been "sleeping".  There is no way we don't have the "sleeper cells" with our lax borders.  They have lost their "effect" over there and now are waking up here to start it up.
