Another young girl is gone...

This is an article about a 15-year old girl who hanged herself following a gang rape, with pictures posted on-line of the attack.

I don't understand why this keeps happening! Why do young boys think it is so acceptable that they will take pictures of themselves committing a heinous crime--publicize it to the world, and get away with it? Why has it taken seven months for an arrest to be made? Their names haven't even been released, and may not be. Their identities are protected, but a beautiful young girl with a bright future ahead of her is dead because of them. There isn't anything bad enough that the legal system can do to them.

2. It is because someone has failed to teach children what is acceptable behavior.

I agree that someone has failed to teach them.  They have failed to teach them that sex is not for casual entertainment.  They have failed to teach them any morality with regards to sexual activity and this is all reinforced in the popular culture.  They teach 'if it feels good do it' and then they wonder where all these monsters come from.

Because a village of idiots tells them, "If it feels good, do it and don't let those damn rightwing Christians tell you that there is any such thing as right and wrong."

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Don't matter what one is taught in church, school or home.   Humans are acting mindless on instinct when they want something.

The problem is the parents that jump up to defend the indefensible acts of their children. Difficult to imagine a child will become a monster, denial of the loved ones.

Monsters blame their victims and have plenty of back up to explain why it was the victims fault they harmed.

Few people will face down a monster with a  "SHAME ON YOU "  and shake the Monster off their heels. The last thing a Monster needs is to have crying parents visit them every day and a fan club on the outside.

These boys will have loving parents and family that go by the idea to hate the sin but love the sinner. What kind of thinking is this ?

When a family member Morphs into a Monster, time to use tough love, forget protecting them from the consequences and allow them to take their licks.

In the news----A young man released from jail for some bad act was taken in by grand parents.   They picked him up at the prison and brought him home to a welcome home party.   Later that night he killed both grandparents and stole their car.   Like a Leopard, Monsters of any age remain Monsters regardless of who loves them.

It's all the right wingers in Hollywood and in the education system that has brought this on.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I don't believe that.  When people are taught and learn morals, acceptable behavior, and standards of civility whether it be in church, school, and home that is what separates humans from animals.  True you will always have that small minority of those abnormal, sick individuals that practice unacceptable behavior, but that is what the rule of law is for.
In battle you have to show no mercy for mercy comes after the war when you still have the freedom to ask for it.

The entire point to RAISING children is to make thinking, empathetic, intelligent humans of them.  Most of us manage that.

Kids are taught that sex is no big deal and that it's consequences can be aborted or swept under the run and then act surprised when they act out the lessons that they have learned.

A lot of it comes from our culture.  Kids are sexualized at a young age through schools, television and advertising, porn is easily available on the internet, rap degrades women and authority, mob violence and fight videos are posted to youtube as entertainment.  Kids are saturated with the underbelly of society and there are no consequences for their actions.  Except when they get thrown out of school for making a gun with their fingers.

And are parents naive? Assuming this young lady did not sneak out or was lied to by friends. How did she end up at a parentless party. My daughter has a boy courting her now and they see each other under very specific terms. I'm not naive...someday they may be together, but I at least want to be sure when she is alone with him in the someday, this isn't some sleaze who would put my daughter in this position.

Now, I snuck out as a kid and something bad did happen to me. I think the big difference in culture, is a girl can't mourn her mistakes and the victimization on her own. It's embarrassing and now with phone pics and internet your trauma is posted for all to see. That to me is the big thing in all this that sends it over the edge. People have been put in compromising and victimized positions for time immemorial. Now there is a digital record of it and if I think back as a teen I could not have survived taht either I don't think--getting past what happened is difficult enough.

It's a double edged sword. The moron perps now broadcast their crimes making it easier to prosecute them but the women(or man potentially) who is victimized has to live with the emotional trauma of having something so personally degrading broadcast.

Human beings just suck sometimes. I think if this ever(please God look out for her) happened to my child I would at the very least consider pulling her from school and putting her in a private school situation to start. I'd also ctake the cell phone and drop any internet social media avenues. As a parent you have to find ways to lessen the trauma while she's recovering and the idiots who think it's funny grow the **** up. I could not move, but if I feared for her life, I would at least send her away 1200 miles to sunshine to live with her grandad(my dad) and his wife for a while. Doesn't seem like there was enough time to act. These girls were overwhelmed in very short order. Just sucks.

I agree with you, shit happens but when it happens to a young girl and broad cast  with the act happening to her unaware of the act happening, it is like filming the gang rape of a person in a coma.

We had a Pastor lately that talked a 12-13 year old in the congregation into having sex because Jesus wanted them to.   Yes she became pregnant and when charged and found guilty the members of his church not only refused to believe it but tormented her and her family.

We are not that far from the ideas of the old country's that place the blame on the victim.   Her skirt is to short, at the Harper Vally PTA.

As my Daddy once told me when he did not trust a boyfriend, " I am a Man, spent 22 years in the Navy, I know how boys and men think. "

What about the parents? Why aren't they teaching their sons that just because a girl is drunk it's all right to take advantage of her? And what about the others, who think they can take pictures, or post them on the Internet?

I was a stay-at-home mom until my younger son was a senior in high school. I know that's not an option for all moms. I work full-time now, and I don't know how working moms have enough left at the end of the day to give anything at all to their children. Maybe if more moms (or dads) could stay home, and be available to their kids, to listen to them, and to teach them, there would be less of this kind of thing going on.

I"m saying this as someone who stayed home 12 years with mine, but also had a mother at home throughout a large part of my childhood...'listening and teaching kids' is a lot more about the attitude of the parent then the availability. You can still have an absent parent emotionally who is physically there. I didn't tell my mom until recently what happened to me; she was not available in that way even though she had been home through much of my childhood back then. Emotional availability and physical accessibility are two different things. Plenty of welfare moms are 'staying home' and still raising a generation of damaged goods.
