Obama unveils $3.78 trillion spending plan
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:16:49 PM »

President Obama unveiled a 10-year budget blueprint Wednesday that calls for nearly $250 billion in new spending on jobs, public works and expanded pre-school education and nearly $800 billion in new taxes, including an extra 94 cents a pack on cigarettes.

“We don’t need an extreme, unbalanced budget that won’t balance in your lifetime or mine,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in a floor speech before Obama’s Rose Garden announcement. “It looks like there’s less than $600 billion worth of reduction in there — and that’s over a decade — all of it coming from tax increases. In other words, it’s not a serious plan. For the most part, just another left-wing wish list.”

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said in a statement he was “disappointed by the president’s proposal because it merely ratifies the status quo.” House Appropriations Committee Chairman Harold Rogers (R-Ky.) said it was “overstuffed with spending and tax increases that will continue to hinder economic growth."

The budget proposes to spend $3.77 trillion in the fiscal year that starts in October, and projects a 2014 deficit of $744 billion, or 4.4 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product. The budget gap would narrow steadily over the coming decade, shrinking to $439 billion in 2023, or 1.7 percent of GDP.

Huge Tricare fee hikes in new budget plan

For working-age retirees under 65, the Pentagon wants to increase the current Tricare Prime enrollment fee in phases over four years, based on a percentage of retired pay, again with higher charges for retired flag and general officers.

For those who retired below flag or general officer rank, the minimum annual enrollment for family coverage would be $548 in 2014, rising to $594 in 2018. The maximum for anyone below flag or general officer rank in 2014 would be $750 for family coverage, rising to $1,226 in 2018.

For flag and general officers, annual enrollment for family coverage would be $900 in 2014, rising to $1,840 in 2018.

The budget also proposes to increase Tricare Prime co-pays for retirees and their beneficiaries to $16 per medical visit not related to mental health. That would be a $4 increase.

Gee, I wonder how much the "skin" the welfare crowd is going to be required to have "in the game"?

One skin cell at most.....if any.

How much is in there for Obama and Moochelle's vacations?

Sounds like the only ones with a 'skin in the game' are the ones who have sacrificed the most. Still no word of how much the Obama voting block (also known as the 'entitlement' crowd) will be 'sacrificing'.   :bird:

I was listening to him spewing his baloney on the way home a bit ago.  "The deficit is decreasing at a faster rate than at any other time in history."  HA!

And that bullcrap preschool he wants "available" for all four year olds.  What a load of crap.  Heard his "domestic policy" heifer bawling about 4 year old being a "powerful force for the future of our country."  An estimated $71 billion for give your kids away.   :bs:

"Going to make healthcare more efficient." "Cuts don't have to be painful."  More BS.  Tell that to the ones who got craptastic Med D plans.  Oh, and just wait until later this year and next to see what's coming for people with chronic conditions.

So much malarky in his budget even in the few areas I know about.  On the drive I was eager to see how y'all deconstruct that mess.

Obama is so full of crap if he took a good dump, nothing would be left. 700 billion taken out of medicare to fund the welfare crowd and slackers under Medicaid. Cancer centers are in the news; their funds are being cut and some facilities will no longer accept medicare patients. Imagine having cancer in one of these facilities and being told sorry we can not complete your chemo because of cuts. Obama care is going to do severe damage economically and medically.

New taxes are coming and the Repubs in the House of R. are too stupid to stop it. I have never seen so many ball-less Congress critters in one place. It is pathetic. They compromise and Obama throws them a few crumbs and Bonehead comes out and espouses his stupidity on TV that this is the best deal we could get. We will never have any meaningfull cuts as long as this Obama lapdog is Speaker. Mitch is not a hell of a lot better. If we do not take over the Senate next year, our debt we will increase over a trillion dollars per year as far as the eye can see.

What was his vacation tally?  1.2 billion?  If he took that and just divided it up for the tax payers that would be a good stimulus plan.

It's about four bucks per person.

You don't think he really give a sh!t do you? He will blame it on the Repubs/Bush, and the liberals and low IQ voters will swallow it hook, line and sinker. Not holding my breath but I hope a time will come that the low IQ Democratic voters will say enough is enough and kick the tax freaks to the curb.

But that tax is to get those poor four year olds out of those poor homes, into his new mandated government pre-schools (head start), so he can turn them into good little Marxists.
