There is, however, a pretty obvious cause of butthurt that everyone envisions when they try to think of its point of origin. The latter was used today in my presence in connection with being on the losing end of a legal argument by someone who had no idea he was in the presence of one rape survivor - and perhaps from the reaction of the judge more than one. Fortunately the judge took him to task so I didn't need to. But, the most likely origin of "butthurt," as the blogger suggests, is real trauma at the hands of someone bigger and stronger who enforces their will by sodomizing their victims. Using it to characterize someone who blows small things way out of proportion, trivializes the experience of people who have real butthurt as the result of being sodomized against their will. (It also often has anti-gay connotations: homophobic in nature , explicitly connecting butthurt and putting down gays, sodomized with a cactus) Forced sodomy is not the only suggested origin - but it is frequently suggested and one of two images I am aware of which comes to mind when the user is asked to explain where it comes from or what it really means (the other being equally violent - that of being kicked or paddled hard enough to have a sore rear end). You're a creative guy - I'd encourage you to find a colorful substitute that is not tainted with violence, rape, and anti-homosexual imagery.
