Oh my.

I was afraid this was another one of those roaring bonfires on Skins's island, about what Massa Barry's doing to the primitives' social security checks, but was relieved to see that no, it deals with an issue of more importance.

Good, easy and totally flexible - the Quesadilla Pie

I was looking for recipes about what to do with what I had yesterday and came across this. It was really easy and will be my go to for cleaning out the refrigerator night.

after which a picture

1. Melt butter in cast iron skillet. Remove from heat.

2. Put a flour tortilla in bottom.

3. Layer with cheese and whatever else you have around. I had green onions, tomatoes, basil, cheddarwurst.
 
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 one or two more times, depending on how many you want to serve. You can sprinkle with cumin or chili powder or whatever else you fancy at any point.
 
5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

6. Uncover, turn up to 400 and cook another 15-20 minutes or until top is browned.
 
7. Let cool, cut like a pizza pie. Serve with salsa, guacomole, sour cream, lettuce or whatever else you have around.

2. Let me know if you try it. You could, of course, make it meatless.

The only things I would avoid are veggies that release a lot of water, like mushrooms or zucchinis.
 
This had a wonderful crispy crust on both the top and bottom, which I think too much moisture would destroy.

3. Flour Tortillas

Flour tortillas get slimmy when layered or used in a sauce, I would try this with corn tortillas.

4. They didn't get slimy at all.

They came out crisp both on the top and the bottom and more of a lasagna consistency in the middle.
 
I'm partial to flour tortillas, but I think this would work well with corn tortillas, too.

5. What a great idea!

Will have to play with this idea soon - looks like it can easily be adapted for different flavor profiles...Mexican, Italian, Greek, etc.

6. Absolutely - that's what I loved about it.

As long as the fillings aren't really wet, I think you could put any number of combinations in there.

The boat, at 43 feet long, is probably about 7 feet wide, given that it boasts 300 square feet.

For two adults.

One wonders how that living space rates, with the California housing codes.

Now, neither you nor I am in favor, too much, of housing codes because they infringe on our freedom to live the ways we want.  But the cbayer primitive, being a primitive, is in favor of nanny-state regulations, and so perhaps needs a taste of her own medicine.

I have a sense that boat doesn't conform even with the free-and-loose codes here in Nebraska, much less the stronger codes out in California.  And so the cbayer primitive and her eccentric English husband need removed from that housing situation, as it presents a hazard and peril to their safety and lives.

I think they need to be turned in, the boat sunk, and the cbayer primitive and her eccentric English husband moved to what one other primitive here called a "HUD Cube."  It'd probably be safer, cleaner, and larger, than that boat.

And if the eccentric English husband objects, well, there's a mighty fine line between simply being "eccentric" and being declared non mentis compos, and I'm sure a California bureaucrat can do that.

In order to handle the anchor and lines for docking, even a houseboat may have six or eight feet of open deck at the bow and stern.

That could use up around a third of that three hundred square feet.
