Easter Greetings
« on: March 30, 2013, 08:43:01 AM »
From a Coast Guard shipmate, and now to everyone here.

Quote
From my Unit to yours I want to wish all of you a very Blessed Easter and to remind you it’s a time of renewal. A lot of Easters have gone under the keel and I remember a lot of them but the one that stands out for me was Easter 1970 breaking Ice on the St Mary’s and Whitefish bay. That Easter Sunday we were under way doing the job we were paid to do what a Blessed day it was and every Easter Sunday that day comes back to me.
So Shipmates thank the good lord for your blessings and memories, I will and remember that Sunday in 1970 when I spent Easter with family and my brothers. God Bless all.

Happy Easter my darlings May you have a great Easter!! Tomorrow, early service, then off to work.
God Bless our troops on this Easter!!!
The sea is treacherous, but an even hand on the keel brings it safely to port.

Going to have breakfast and some reflection with my mum and my kids and then we will spend the day finishing our packing and cleaning for the week and then we are off for their spring break and a much needed break from work for me. So excited for the week ahead:)

Our grandson is coming from Wisconsin with my new HP computer that runs both MAC and Windows, and he'll set it all up for me.

I dunno if I want to keep the Family Tree and Home Inventory files in the DOS or the MAC versions, or to use the MAC version of Office. I'll probably follow his advice.

So it'll be a happy Easter for me, too!

After that we all go to my son's placed to observe Easter.  :hi5:

Easter is my favorite Holy Day.  Words fail to fully describe what this means for us.

Happy Easter, everyone!

I got through all of the singing at my church--it's a very large parish, the largest in the Albany Diocese, and we have a very good music department.  I was supposed to have two solos Friday evening, but one was cropped out--the (far) shorter one.  My solo was to do "Amazing Grace" while the choir went up to venerate the Cross.  I figured that I'd probably do two verses, tops.  Not only did I get through all five verses with people to spare, the small orchestra played the song through once and not everyone was done with the veneration.  I thought I did rather well, so on the way home I stopped at a Stewart's (Carl and Karin know what they are) to pick up a half-gallon of "Peanut Butter Pandemonium"--I figured that I deserved it.  Someone who was in the congregation for the Good Friday service recognized me, and complemented the choir and I for our singing.

Enough of that--the Easter Vigil went well, and the Easter Sunday Mass went well.  The Heiress received a lot of candy.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter.  He Is Risen Indeed!
