Could a government shutdown doom the White House Easter Egg Roll?

For more than a century, the White House Easter Egg Roll has been insulated from the sort of partisan sniping that now dominates Washington politics.

That tradition ended Monday, when Republicans started complaining about a notice that the event could be canceled due to a potential government shutdown. The Obama administration has already come under GOP criticism for canceling White House tours due to the mandatory, across-the-board cuts known as sequestration.

The memo — which doesn’t actually say the White House is nixing the bunny fest, but just that it might do so at some point during the next couple of weeks — warns ticket-holders that the nation’s financial woes may affect the 135th Easter Egg role slated for April 1. (Note: this is not an April’s Fools Day joke.)

This will keep the President from redistributing the eggs after they are collected by the kids.

I was never comfortable with that closeted homosexual muslim having anything to do with any real traditions of the White House, and especially not anything to do with Easter.  Cancel away!

I think Obama is just using excuses to do what he has always wanted to do.  Close the WH to tours because who wants the peons traipsing through "His House" and the same for the Easter Egg Roll. Do Muslims celebrate Easter?

When he decided what he would cut during the sequester he cut the things that would be the worst for the common folks to make it easier to blame the right. Of course what Obama did not count on was things like the stock market setting records and lower unemployment reports.

It turns out the Easter Egg Roll is funded by private donations and sponsors and was never in danger of being cut.   More lies from the Obama Regime.
