Started My New Job Today
« on: March 13, 2013, 07:42:10 PM »
I was supposed to start my new job Monday; but my sister (who works there) informed me that they had a few people leave. I emailed HR and told them my last day at WH was the 12th; and I would gladly start earlier if they would like. Well...they asked me to start today.

My first day consisted of the usual videos and paperwork. I also had to do a lot of reading up on the client I will be handling (Target). The place I work makes wrapping paper, gift bags, cards, etc. My sister handles Wal-Mart, and she's training me (which I love). I think I'm gonna love it there.

Oh..and it also is paying me more than double what I was making at Waffle House. AND I actually get holidays and weekends off! YAY!

And for the DUmmies out there...I passed my drug test. You ought to try it sometime :-)

Sounds great!

We had a lady show up in a lab coat on Monday to give us all a random drug and alcohol test. No one was worried, no one ran out the back door and set off the fire alarm. Everyone is still with us.  No Dummies allowed in my line of work.

This actually happened to us twice. My wife told the first to "get out" (in a nice way), the second presented herself better so my wife said "the job is now, take it or leave it". She took it and has worked out well.  :-)

Thanks y'all. I think I'm gonna enjoy it. It's fast paced....just what I like. Can you believe I  received my first Christmas order from Target today?! I knew they had to order early...just not this early. My sister says April-July will be frantic....

Jobs are tough to get. My niece, who my wife an I have sponsored from her old country, just started a new job today. She really needed that. So did my wife an I. :-)

No filing for +99weeks extension for UE?

No bad-mouthing a former employer?

No bad-mouthing the new employer?

No complaints about the insurance plan making you miss a few weeks of your favorite psychotropic medication?

No grousing that the only reason you took the job is because SS is hassling you about giving you 100% disability claim for your Asperger's Syndrome?
