Charm has its limits

Cracks are appearring in the front put up by the White House . . . :whistling:

Quote
Charm has its limits

By Dana Milbank,

Published: March 11

It’s week two of the president’s charm offensive, and already there is dissension in the ranks.

Jay Carney, the occasionally charming spokesman for the newly charming president, began his daily media briefing Monday with a smile, a sunny disposition and a bit of percussion on the lectern. Bum-ba-da-bum-bum, he drummed with his hands.

“Happy Monday!” began Carney, wearing a festive yellow tie and striking a casual pose. “Good afternoon. Thanks for being here for your White House briefing. Spring is here early.”

But it was not long before the White House press secretary was back in his winter of discontent. The first questioner, the Associated Press’s Jim Kuhnhenn, asked Carney to square President Obama’s “charm offensive” with his decision to speak this week to the highly partisan Organizing for Action group.

“I think you’re misrepresenting the group,” Carney informed Kuhnhenn.

The rest of this is here:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/dana-milbank-charm-has-its-limits/2013/03/11/01c2de20-8a9c-11e2-98d9-3012c1cd8d1e_story.html?hpid=z6

It would seem to me that the patience of the WH press corps is getting near the limits.  Will it ever reach the end?  Don't know, but I doubt it . . .

Some people get paid to lie with a smile on their face....personally, I couldn't and wouldn't do it.

The "charm offensive" huh?  I don't buy it.  There is nothing charming about this Admin.

Obama had his popularity numbers drop 7 points in a week over the sequester.  This is just for the optics - so he looks like he's trying to work with Republicans.
He's also due for another expensive vacay in Martha's Vineyard.  He has to at least look like he's working.

F&F said this morning that the Obamas have already spent over a billion dollars on vacations since taking office.

Well, I think it was another pretty boneheaded move on Obama's part to stop the WH tours and proceed to blame it on sequestration, but I've never seen the appeal of him at all. But his numbers have tanked in recent weeks, Bob Woodward could be a part of the reason for that as well.

There was a time I would ask just who he thought he was fooling, but now I know just who he is fooling, the low information voter.
The low information voter does not remember what happened just a week ago, so 0bama can say the sky is green on Monday and on Friday when he says it is blue they will think he always thought the sky was blue.
