Reminds me of one I made for my wife for folding clothes. Just a utility table. I used a foam core slab door for the top, and sturdier legs that could screw into wood blocks at the corners.
The old time TV dinner folding tables come to mind. We looked all over for them made of wood. Utility and use is major to me the dining room drop leaf tables are my favorite, Space savers everywhere in the house.
Of all things we found a set of 4 TV folding tables with stand to store them for $40.00 at Walmart. Some kind to wood material stained a Cherry color.
Still looking for the dining room drop leaf at the thrift stores. My table is round with 2 leaves that need to be stored. I hate it, as we only dine at the table on Hollidays and with a drop leaf we can gain 24 extra inches in the dinning room. 2 feet added to any room makes a difference.
I do know these scavengers that seek out old time travel trailers to cannibalise the interior. This man rented a very small apartment, he bought for $700.00 a falling apart trailer, he gutted the place, sold the rest for scrap.
His living room he placed the front seating area a banquette of sorts seated 6 with a drop down table to become a good size bed. Lots of storage under the seats. The cabinets he turned into against the wall storage spaces and book shelves. He made his living as a carpenter so he rounded all corners off in his small space, and everything just seemed to flow together.
Bathroom he had the tub removed with the permission of the land lord and installed a big shower.
Kitchen was very small however he installed drop leaf or pull outs anywhere there was a square inch of unused space.
Best part of this he made sure when he moved most of this could be removed [except for the shower ] to
his next mini Pad.
New field carpenters going into, the mini homes that look bigger then they are, less work to maintain and give all that one needs in a 300 SF area or less. Each inch of space has a home for something, no empty space, no clutter, all is clean and calm, perfect Zen.
