South Dakota Law Will Allow Guns in Classrooms

Gov. Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota on Friday signed into law a bill that would allow teachers to carry guns in the classroom.

While some other states have provisions in their gun laws that make it possible for teachers to be armed, South Dakota is believed to be the first state to pass a law that specifically allows teachers to carry firearms.

About two dozen states have proposed similar bills since the shootings in December at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., but all of them have stalled.

Supporters say that the measure signed by Mr. Daugaard, a Republican, is important in a rural state like South Dakota, where some schools are many miles away from emergency responders.

Ever since concealed carry started to spread around the country people (like you) have said that 'blood will run in the streets'. And all these years they've been wrong.

Only a small percentage of teachers will ever take advantage of the ability to carry concealed in school but that small percentage just might discourage the next whack-o from even considering a rampage at a school.

I don't think that BB will see the end of the day.

Anything that deters a wacko from doing something stupid to a bunch of children -either because the wacko rethinks his/her decision, or because the wacko gets taken down- works for me.

Interesting that the left does not trust women with guns, and they don't trust teachers with guns.
They think that women and teachers are so mentally unstable that they will pull out their guns and just spraying people with bullets for the hell of it.

Then again the only thing that left trusts anyone with is the decision to kill an unborn baby. They certainly don't trust anyone with a salt shaker, a big gulp, or a gun.

Hi 5 Freep, apparently Sen. Feinstein doesn't even trust veterans with guns. Because you KNOW they all have PTSD. If you can't trust people who used weapons in COMBAT with them, who the **** will you trust Ms. Feinstein? The LAPD?  :bird: :bigbird: :redbird:
