Ignorant people are really starting to bum me out.
I have this bumper sticker on my car:

(A sticker, sold by Skimmer, demanding universal Medicare.)

Some guy approached me about it in the parking lot of a market and asked me who was going to pay for it. I said everyone would and everyone would benefit. He said it would break the nation. I told him that was nonsense. He said he was eighty years old and from east Germany and he knew how awful it was. I said if he was eighty years old he is already using Medicare and everyone should have it. I asked him when he came from Germany. He said in 1952. I told him he should look what Germany is doing with health care today. He says he knows because the government isn't involved. Again I said that's nonsense. They have a system that is non-profit and run under government guidelines. He then walked away from me shaking his hand at me.

I shouted at him that if Medicare wasn't paying for his medical expenses that he probably couldn't afford the Mercedes he was driving but he wouldn't talk to me anymore. I was ready to go the distance with him to wear him down with facts, but this is what is wrong with old people today, they would rather listen to Hannity, and the rest of the distributors of disinformation than hear the truth.

Perhaps the techniques used to deprogram cult members would work. They ARE cult members, after all.

4. They are. This is really a problem.
I can't believe some of the crap I overhear when I'm at the gym. It's alarming.

For years, I've gone to the gym nearly every day. I have yet to overhear even one conversation.
Nearly everyone, including me, is hooked up to an iPod.
DUmmy Cleita, like all her DUmpmates, is a liar.

5. So he was
of military age during Nazi Germany if he is really 80 years old and came here in 1952.

You may have noticed that DUmmies don't do math.

8. I've decided not to let stupid shit pass anymore.
Calm tone, aiming for non-condescending or mocking. But it's amazing the utter nontruths people in the general population bandy about casually. I never bring up politics in a business setting. But twice recently someone has casually mouthed off about one idiotic thing or another (the government can't provide good healthcare, Obama was "in control of Congress for two years!") and I didn't let it go. Got some neutral vibes back, some positive, some negative.

I won't start it. But people need to understand the conservative "common wisdom" is simply false.

9. You are so right. We can't shut up anymore.
I usually just overhear stuff. I don't interfere in other's conversations although they drive me crazy. But like today I have been directly confronted and I'm not letting it go anymore. But it seems they don't want to stay and be educated. It's like the bully who backs off when the wimp fights back.

Classic DUmmy. And it sounds like Cleita plans to spin more bouncies in the future.

Pure bouncy tale.
I've never had anyone approach, or confront me over a bumper-sticker. Ever!
Knowing how DUmpmonkeys act, s/h/it, more likely tried to intimidate another person, and got s/h/it's ass handed to s//h/it.
DUmpmonkey then twists the story to "look" important.
What a DUmbass.

Anybody wants to know how good our Feds are at running health care has only to go to an Indian Health Services clinic or hospital.  Many of the workers are skilled, care, and work hard, but the whole system is so jacked up/difficult to navigate, and corruption and incompetence is so flippin' rampant... It's a crap shoot whether they will have a complete, working piece of machinery, the meds you or your loved one needs, or have a surgery theater in working order.

I've got to admit that bumper stickers at times DO effect me.  I witnessed a car accident in a parking lot not long after Obama was elected in '08.  A very elderly man plowed right into a truck that clearly had the right of way. Our police do not investigate parking lot incidents, so it is up to eye witnesses, if any, on which the insurance companies battle it out.  I knowingly walked around the truck of the car the elderly man hit, looking for an Obama sticker before I would give my name as a witness. No Obama sticker in sight, I gave them my info. Had they had an Obama sticker, I would have continued my journey into the store and left them to duke it out.  And I'd do it again today.

And you lurking authoritarian assholes want to know why we're arming up? Language like that. Couple that with your heroes Che Guervara and Bill Ayers who said they'd have to kill 25 million Americans that couldn't be "re-educated", and you're setting yourselves up for your own deaths. We know damn well the connotations of that language. That language has been used by every dictator throughout history. Castro, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, etc., etc., etc. Bring it, mother****ers.  :censored:

The arrogance of ignorance.

I had a debate about global warming with a leftist. He went off about how stupid AGW non-believers were. How they are so stupid and dumb. I piped in that I thought AGW was BS. Needless to say he went off on how he couldn't believe how stupid and indoctrinated I was by the oil companies. After mentioning my credentials as having designed over 50 machines utilizing IR, UV, XRAY, radiation and convective and conductive heat transfer and that it was the huge unshielded fusion reactor 8 light minutes away that causes minor temperature variations on Earth. The guy asks me if I am talking down to him. Nope, I'm just educating him. End of conversation.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Let me state the obvious flaws in the DUmmies argument.

EVERYONE DOESN'T PAY!!!!

Let me just give a very small and simple example for the lurkers.

You and five friends go to a restaurant.  Three of you are employed and have money two are not and are broke.  But you decide to split the bill evenly before ordering.  You eat, bill comes, it's time to pay.  What happens DUmmies?  What happens if you do this every day with your "friends."

I could go on and explain the example, but I hope you can use a little brain power and figure it out on your own.

Hard to say.  Probably depended where they lived.  His father more than likely had been conscripted into the army.  Young boys had to join Hitler's youth.  Or if he was rural, probably digging potatoes with his family just trying to survive. I don't imagine he has very good memories of growing up.  Maybe that's why he is mortified to see socialist Americans.

Towards the end of the war, Hitler youth were enlisted to fight the invading forces, defending Berlin.

I was referring to the post that GOBUCKS posted from DUmmy John2.
