Maduro was chosen to be a Yes-man who wouldn't eclipse his boss...his sort always are.
Meanwhile, Capriles -- who in the American spectrum would be a New England liberal -- was vilified mercilessly last time around and was fiercely opposed to Chavez's incompetence but he remains a figure quite capable of winning in the upcoming election...which he has been preparing for.
I think the next few months will be instructive because the cult of personality around Obama follows a similar historical framing narrative arc (

) and we need to capitalize on lessons within it especially as we do not currently have a popular figure of our own but we can at least watch the reactions of the little tyrants as they try to cope with their losses.
