Oddly Enough...it seems I trust DU now more than any other news website.

As the economy pulls down another news agency, or the print-media's failure to realize early that the "paper" in "newspaper" was pretty much a thing of the past the day the internet was invented, I have noticed that more and more I am starting my day with the Breaking News section of DU.
As side-boobs took over Huffington Post, Lindsey Lohan's latest idiocy took over the news and the main-stream media began running with stories that they weren't even fact checking, DU seems to have become my first source for news. You Duers with your thirst for knowledge and your willingness to call a turd a turd have become some of the best fact-checkers and information sharers on the internet. I have had some of my facts corrected by the best on here, that's for sure, and no matter how awesome and progressive the story is on here, you still have someone saying, "Link, please?".
Hats off to you my DU buddies. Happy Sunday Morning. Happy fact hunting to you. Thanks for catching me up on the news.
(and also a shout out to my organic, family farmed, sumatra dark roast coffee, french pressed (with an extra half a scoop of beans to make it extra dark, sugar and some fat free half and half...man-oh-man is this a good cup of jo)

1. That's a huge mistake. DU is laden with misinformation and extreme bias.
Using DU as a source of information is as misguided as trusting Fox News.
Yeah you need to tune in to MSNBC and Comedy Central for the real nooz.

2. I love DU for news. The reason is because someone will post something news related and it will
be vetted by replies and you can check sources yourself. Most folks here fact check for you and you can usually locate the source and verify. I have been taken to task myself for things I've posted and that's fine with me. If I'm wrong I want to know it and I want it 'proven' to me.
Yep I trust DUmmies to fact check.

Links and commentary allow me to form my own opinions unlike other sources who try to tell me what to think.

Is there another DU or something? All I see at DU is DUmmies telling other DUmmies what to think, and if you disagree you get MIRTed out of existence.
