Now that the correspondence between Bob Woodward and the White House has been revealed as tame and cordial, conservative commentators are reacting with disappointment to the veteran journalist's claim that he was threatened over his sequestration reporting.

Politico on Thursday posted the emails between Woodward and White House economic adviser Gene Sperling, who told Woodward, "as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim."

"Looks like we were played," The Daily Caller's Matt Lewis wrote Thursday morning.

I don't know, Rush is talking about it now and it seems it's the LSM that's all aflutter! They don't know what to do about it. And it's the WH that's having to make excuses and downplay the whole thing. Sort of like the sequester threats the boy king is having to walk back. Since it's coming (tomorrow) and isn't going to be the disaster he's been trying to threaten (to get the GOP panic and acquiesce) he's had to come out and say "hey, you're really not going to feel it..." Even the low information voters have heard 0bama's threats about life as we know it changing forever because of the sequester...now it's going to happen and he's gonna look like the stupid foot stomping, tantrum throwing, petulant child the rest of us know he is.

is enough to still get most people to pay attention. Even though his reporting has steadily eroded into bad fantasy people will print what he says verbatim just because of who he is.

Hopefully this latest fiasco in an increasingly long string of fiasco's will reduce his ability to access people who matter.

I'm taking Woodward's threat story seriously.  The lefty smear machine is going into overdrive against Woodward.  That sounds to me like they're trying to make him regret speaking truth to power.  Even the DUmmies, the low information pawns of the democrat party are going on the attack.

I remember Bob Woodward's ninja skills as he snuck into the ICU and got an interview with a comatose Bill Casey.

I also remember something about William Rivers Pitt unleashing and army of ninja lawyers who must still be filing phantom briefs because nobody has seen or heard from them.
