C. Everett Koop, ex-surgeon general, dies in NH

One secret to long life for a mole is to avoid the queer mafia in most cases, unless one has a queer mole that is.
This innocuous post could elicit some interesting responses as it's an article of DUmmy faith that the Reagan administration invented aids to solve the "gay problem" and reduce the black population in the United States.

C. Everett Koop, ex-surgeon general, dies in NH

Source: AP

C. Everett Koop, who raised the profile of the surgeon general by riveting America's attention on the then-emerging disease known as AIDS and by railing against smoking, has died in New Hampshire at age 96.

An assistant at Koop's Dartmouth institute, Susan Wills, said he died Monday in Hanover, where he had a home. She didn't disclose his cause of death.

Koop wielded the previously low-profile post of surgeon general as a bully pulpit for seven years during the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations.

An evangelical Christian, he shocked his conservative supporters when he endorsed condoms and sex education to stop the spread of AIDS.

Nothing nasty so far but the Lavender Mob is probably still busy searching for hookups.
My Old Man was a Chicago Republican until the day he died.

Then he became a democrat.

I'm still trying to figure out the bolded. I consider myself an evangelical Christian. I believe that sex education and condoms are the best bet to slow/stop the spread of AIDS. My sex education message would be: The only thing that will prevent you from getting AIDS is abstinence, but if you're an animal that's just got to hump everything at least use a condom because it's better protection than no protection.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

Also the gay flu. Reagan would not use the words AIDS.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Shilts accused Ronald Reagan of neglecting to address AIDS to the American people until 1987—calling his behavior "ritualistic silence"—even after Reagan called friend Rock Hudson to tell him to get well.[35] After Hudson's death and in the face of increasing public anxiety, Reagan directed Surgeon General C. Everett Koop to provide a report on the epidemic. Though Koop was a political conservative, his report was nevertheless clear about what causes AIDS and what people and the U.S. government should do to stop it, including sex and AIDS education provided for all people.

Shilts is often quoted as claiming that Ronald Reagan neglected to mention AIDS publicly until 1987. However, Reagan briefly mentioned AIDS research in questions and answers during a news conference on September 17, 1985

Obviously you were incapable of doing the same.

Dr. Koop was an honorable man who served under President Reagan in a pretty much useless position.

At least the office of the Surgeon General became a source of comic relief when the first black president, Willy Clinton, appointed Joycelyn Elders.

Dr. Elders, who proved that affirmative action in medical schools is a dangerous concept, was the medical equivalent of Sheila Jackson Lee.

Her recommendation for preventing AIDS was to teach masturbation in elementary schools.

And, you know, it's like riding a bicycle. Once you learn, you never forget.

Don't get me started on AIDS, horror of horror when heterosexuals caught this from boyfriends, husbands,
or men caught this from wives or girlfriends.

Today Herpies is rampent, darn stuff may like Hep C hang out in the body for years before busting out and no way to know what or who had infected them.

Sick how society treated the kids that caught AIDS from rape, incest, or just fooling around with boy or girlfriend in the early days of the disease.

AIDS is and never been a problem just for Gays, some men are bisexual, and passed it on to those unsuspecting partners.

There are dozens of diseases to get from a heterosexual encounter.   Some are now immune to antibiotics,  Syphilis of the brain has in the past placed many woman in health care centers whose husbands came home from WW1 with the disease. Took years for the disease to reach the brain then when they 50 - 60 years later and family informed of the reason for Grandma going odd and told the reason were not at all happy to be told.  Few family's were told they were told it was age or some other reason.

Want a flash back to how men were treated for syphilis back during the war and after.   The instruments used and the treatments are enough to make a male celebrate.

Sex and Lust has never been portrayed better then in the movie with Robin Williams " The world according to GARP"
