The Best Picture Oscar.

I knew King Zero and Queen Chewy HAD to be part of it somehow.

I guess they had to throw their Hollywood buddies a bone.

See?  I KNEW there was a reason I didn't give a rat's rip about the Oscars.  I've stepped foot into a movie theater maybe three times in the last decade.  And of those three times, the only movie I'd consider watching again was Capote.  Low-budget deal with Philip Seymour Hoffman, but it (gasp!) TOLD A STORY.  Had plot.  Didn't rely on CGI to hide its godawful shortcomings.

I saw her "presentation" and wondered WTH is with this?

There was a group of military personal - men and women - in formal dress behind her.... again WTH?

One woman - with lots of gold braid on her uniform - looked at MO like she was going to burst into tears! Talk about a fawning puppy dog look.  :thatsright:

Heard on this mornings news that Iran is not too happy about her being the one to present "Argo" with the best movie award.

Quote
The semiofficial Mehr news agency called the Oscar "politically motivated" because First Lady Michelle Obama, from the White House, joined Jack Nicholson via video link in Los Angeles to help present the best picture prize.

Fortunately I had better things to do last night than watch rich liberals pat each other on the back.

Some people are wondering if the winner Argo was not already known, and that is why Moochelle announced it.

props.  That is all the obamas feel the Military is good for. To be used as props and window dressing to, in their feeble minds, make them look good.

I can truly say that I hate the obamas for what they are, how they view this Nation, and what they are doing to it.

Hi 5 for stating the obvious, it is apparently they were a little too literal in interpreting Jean Larteguy's famous quote:

“I'd like to have two armies: one for display with lovely guns, tanks, little soldiers, staffs, distinguished and doddering Generals, and dear little regimental officers who would be deeply concerned over their General's bowel movements or their Colonel's piles, an army that would be shown for a modest fee on every fairground in the country".

That describes what Democrats seem to think our Military is for. What we need out of our military is the other half of the quote, part Democrats overlook: “The other would be the real one, composed entirely of young enthusiasts in camouflage uniforms, who would not be put on display, but from whom impossible efforts would be demanded and to whom all sorts of tricks would be taught. That's the army in which I should like to fight.”

That is what the Military is FOR. To fight and WIN our nations' wars. Not to look pretty at the m@#ther F@#KING academy awards.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
“Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms”

“The best things in life are beyond money; their price is agony and sweat and devotion ... and the price demanded for the most precious of all things in life is life itself - ultimate cost for perfect value.”
― Robert A. Heinlein, Starship Troopers
