Great News! I've got a new job!

I just received a phone call from a place where I interviewed a couple of weeks ago. I was given an offer, and I will start March 18th!! I've been working as a server at Waffle House for a little over a year, so this is a long awaited opportunity. I will be working along side my sister; which I am excited about. We get along great, and we work together great! She's a creative thinker, and I'm more logical....so there's not many problems we cannot solve when we put our heads together.

I'm so excited!!

Good for you, dixierose!

Just curious - as long as you've been serving in the Waffle House, how many times has Larry the Cable Guy come in for breakfast?  :-) I think he's been hitting all of them over the past couple of years....

I'm going to be a Sales Rep for International Greetings (wrapping paper, greeting cards, etc). My primary account will be Target. My sister handles Walmart for them.

Thanks for the well wishes y'all. I'm looking forward to the new path my career is taking. I'm thankful for the last year working at Waffle House, though. It has shown me that I can make it on such a small income (with some sacrifice). My salary is more than twice what I was making as a server...I almost feel like I've won the lottery :-)

Congrats! Sales is an area where women can be compensated the same as men. I sold office equipment for over 30 years and started out as a teacher. I greatly preferred sales.
