Sen. Chambliss has announced he will not  be seeking another term in the senate next year.
I was just curious if anyone familiar with Georgia politics had any thoughts as to who would be the best candidate to run for the seat.
I really like Austin Scott (GA-8 US House). He proved in 2010 that he knows how to win against a popular "blue dog", which is, if I don't miss my guess the type of candidate the dems will nominate.
There's also Tom Price and a ton of other good guys in the GA House and Senate, so we have a really good range of candidates.
Thoughts anyone?

My Representative (Jack Kingston) is considering running. He's a great Rep. and would represent Georgia well in the Senate. The only problem is he hasn't had a "real" opponent in YEARS...so I'm not sure how he would do in a candidate heavy primary.

When Harry Truman was President of the United States, he had a sign on his desk in the White House that said: "The buck stops here." If Barack Obama had a sign on his desk, it would say: "The buck stops with Bush." - Thomas Sowell

I am pulling for Jimmy Carter to run for that seat.  :-)
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Yeah, primaries can be brutal...the 12th district congressional primary last year was one of the worst I've seen in while. Still, they say iron sharpens iron.

I heard Paul Broun was up for it.  He helped me when I was in his district.
