Jesse Jackson Jr. Charged With Illegally Spending Campaign FundsFormer Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. of Illinois was charged Friday with conspiring with an unnamed person to illegally spend campaign funds. As Politico reports, some of that money was spent on buying a $43,000 Rolex watch, "fur coats and memorabilia associated with Michael Jackson, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and Bruce Lee."
I thought this investigation had been going on for some time. Probably what caused his breakdown.

Sandi Jackson joins husband in pleading guiltyFormer U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, former Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson, pleaded guilty today in what prosecutors said was a conspiracy to siphon about $750,000 in federal campaign funds for their personal use.Jackson Jr. entered a negotiated plea of guilty this morning on one felony count of conspiracy to commit false statements, wire fraud and mail fraud. He could face years in prison when he is sentenced this summer.
Hi,I guess he pleaded guilty and will get off with a lighter sentence. Maybe they can put him in the same jail as the two former governors from IL and they can exchange ideas.Likely he will do a short time then get out on probation for good behavior. regards,5412
I heard that federal charges require 80-85% of sentence to be served. They don't have time of for good behavior.
Federal time is nothing compared to State Pen time.
One-Third of Sitting Black Caucus Lawmakers Have Been Named in an Ethics Probe During CareerAccording to a 2012 National Journal study, five of the six lawmakers under review by the House Ethics Committee were Black Caucus members. Yet just one in 10 House members belong to the group. In 2009, all eight lawmakers under ethics investigation were African-American. Besides Jackson, they included Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., who was later convicted of accepting gifts from donors with business before his tax-writing panel and 11 other ethics violations. All told, the Journal says, an astonishing one-third of sitting black lawmakers have been named in an ethics probe at some point in their Hill careers. The stat does not include former lawmakers now doing time in prison, such as ex-Rep. William Jefferson, D-La. FBI agents last decade caught Jefferson red-handed with $90,000 of bribery cash stashed in his office freezer.
