Watching foreign news can be eye opening.
Compare and contrast...a cruise ship stricken at sea, and interview after interview of passengers. (Did any of us learn of the problems in the industry? No, not really).

Then I watched a short video on the PEMEX headquarters explosion almost two weeks ago. The lead investigator went into scientific details on what they think happened, including scene details that are off limits under HIPA on the state of one of the dead. They are leaning on a pocket of natural gas explosion. Oh, they took the press in as well...nasty hole.

Here is the deal, in six hours of wall to wall coverage I heard not once of the other maintainance issues of the Triumph. At the end we sort of did, in passing. I did not hear of the other three accidents, including the Costa Concordia. In three minutes, on the other hand, I learned what the investigation is revealing, and that the Mexican government did not discount a terrorist attack. For this they had technical aid from the UK, the US, Spain and France.

This speaks volumes of the state of we need to protect corporate interests in US major media.

I am at a loss what the solution is. But, I am sure there will be a LOT OF ADDS on CNN from Carnival. Yes, I am that jaded.

the bold is hers, btw.

I'm not quite sure how a fire in the engine room can be spun into "problems in the industry," but if anyone can make the connection, and in a way those reading it would say "Could you repeat that in English?," it would be nads.

CNNi is worse than Al-Jazeera in it's coverage of events involving the US.  Nads may have caught BBC a little bit of BBC, they do manage some good investigations from time to time, so long as it isn't on their home turf.

The last time I was in Italy, the lead news story involved a mugging where the victim was attacked in a train station and knocked out.  The camera clearly showed people walking by after the attack and none of them stopped to help the victim.  That must be the crunchy news Nads is talking about.

Ahhh yes, Nads has access to news that we common folk do not have.

And Nads, the expert on everything, it's HIPAA, not HIPA.  Google that, you dumbass bald dwarf. Your president wants to use that law as he sees fit under his new gun control laws.

I would've never claimed her in the first place.

By the way, I wonder if Pamela was on this cruise.

That could explain her absence from Skins's island.

Right at this particular moment, it's a human interest story. I've never heard of any problems in the industry, but then maybe Nads has sources (given her vast journalistic experience). Most the time when you hear about problems on a cruise ship, it's usually some virus or flu bug circulating.

Huh?  She watched six hours of wall to wall coverage?  Of what?  People talking about pooping in bio bags?

And how does that relate to the explosion in Mexico City?

I'm now one of nadin's peers. Coworkers. Whatever you want to call it. Starting today I'm pretending to be a reporter for the Fictional Spirit-Guide News Network. Bringing you all the news that is news across the fictional spirit-guide nation.

The Fictional Spirit-Guide New Network doesn't have quite that readership that nad's outfit has. Right now our readership is about 2 readers behind her group.

My first breaking news story:

Earlier today Fred farted. Fred is known to fart very frequently, but this time it was so loud that the people that he was spirit-guiding thought a bunch of riffles had went off. Apparently Fred partook of some extra spicy chilli with beans last night. Beans are good for your heart, but the more you eat them the more you fart.

Until Fred's gastric system calms down, people in the southern California area should expect occasional Fred gusts.
Fictional spirit-guiding by appointment.

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.
