Rubio's working class house for sale for $675,000

He bought it for $550,000 seven years ago. I dont know in Miami, but in MA, these are not working class neighborhoods.

http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml

What Rubio did not mention is that the West Miami house where he and his family reside is currently listed for sale for $675,000.
...
According to the Miami Herald, Rubio and his wife, Janette, bought the 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house in 2005 for $550,000. The home was placed on the market in November 2012 and has seen a $20,000 increase in value. Overall, Miami home values are up 2 percent month over month, and up 16 percent from a year ago.

I don't know what area Rubio lives in in Miami but here is what $675k will buy you in Miami.

LINK

Here is what you get for $675k in the city Fullerton where we lived in CA. Fullerton is way cheaper than the LA area or any area closer to the ocean.

LINK

Here is what you get for around $675k in El Segundo, where my husbands ex-employer is.

LINK

Yeah, you are really living high on the hog in Miami or CA in a $675k house. Anyone know how much Obama's house is worth in Chicago?

Never mind, I Nadined it.

President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, own this home in the Kenwood community area of Chicago. It is situated in the 5000 block of South Greenwood. They paid $1.65 million for the Georgian-style home quickly after he became a senator in 2005.

Obama's house in the Hyde Park section of Chicago has 7 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces and a wine cellar. The square footage is listed as 6,199 square feet.

$675,000 doesn't exactly get you a top notch house in Miami, DUmbasses.  Beg's links are a good example.

When I see a few of you DUmmies start bitching about the wealth and lifestyle of some of your liberal heroes, I'll at least give you an ounce of credit for actually believing in your anti-rich cause, (as DUmb and destructive as it may be) rather than viewing you as just blind partisan hypocritical ****stains.

Aw, now, give her more credit than that.  You don't get that big of an ass just cleaning your own plate.

I'm almost certain Harry Reid has a house worth more than a million dollars in a city (Searchlight, NV) that is for sale.  The city, not the house.

I'm not sure there is a house valued that high here.  Maybe some of the farms in the surrounding area are though.

Anything above $400k around here and you're just quibbling over details and/or square footage.

I think my parents sold their last house for $350k with two floors and a basement.  Nothing spectacular, but very nicely finished.

Thing is there is already talks on DU about Kerry running for President next go around.  You want to talk about out-of-touch?  Between him and Teressa Rubio has chump change, and Romney isn't even close to their net worth.  Yet Romney's wealth was brought up 13 times more than Kerry's when he was running.

Miami is a mix. In the neighborhood I grew up in which is solidly middle class you can get a home for 180-250. That is comparable to here in central OH and I know where I'd rather live.  :-) I assume he may be in the Coral Gables or Coconut Grove areas. I really wouldn't call that area middle class to be honest. The area I think he probably lives in is definitely upper-middle class and always has been.

Rubio's home:

http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/6060-SW-13th-St-West-Miami-FL-33144/80784573_zpid/

On edit, I was right. He lives in the Coral Gables area. Definitely not what I think most of us would define as 'working class' and really never has been to be honest. Look at an area like 'Cutler Bay' or even 'Homestead'(and that might be leaning ghetto since Clinton scrapped the airbase back in the 90's after Andrew) or 'Dade City' for something more 'working class'. Now that doesn't excuse the DUmmies hypocrisy though over the whole home issue. Rubio's home is nice, but it's not a mansion in that area by any means. I see some bozo on a blog talking about how he has a pool and several of his neighbors do. Dumbasses, it's Miami...scores of working class even choose to have such a luxury in their backyards :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: My ex and i were middle class and when we lived in Phoenix we had a *gasp* pool. We chose it over some other luxury and designer items we could have had in the home believing it more useful for the way of life we were lucky to have out there weather wise. Now a pool in your backyard in Ohio, that's a luxury because the cost versus its usefulness considering the weather are hard to justify.

Every other house in Vegas has a pool.  Phoenix was the same way.  We would have one if they weren't so expensive to maintain.

Of topic, but I have a pool and they are not that expensive to maintain. Put in a salt system and most of the work is done for you. The pump (which I run for 8 hours a day) only upped the bill by around $35.00 a month.

That kind of money will get you a 100 to 200 acres and a decent 2,000 square foot house here.....it's a few miles from town or the nearest store but WTH nobody bothers you.

Yeah, you are really living high on the hog in Miami or CA in a $675k house. Anyone know how much Obama's house is worth in Chicago?
When PacTel asked me to move out to Ca I spent some time looking around.  One DAY, ONE HOUSE!  I was working out of PacTel on a consulting gig in Walnut Creek.  I am driving down the center of town S and there is a sign 'Open House' I pull over.

I live in Ft Worth Texas (Colleyville, little town next to DFW airport).  I have a almost 4000 sq foot home, 1/3 acre, 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home.  Its a nice neighborhood, small enclave of 22 homes (not gated) nothing flashy or look at me home homes, all professionals, quarterback for LA Rams lives across the street, nice quite people that waved at you, we all knew each other just a low key but a nice place to live with your family.

The open house is a wood sided home that sets on a 3800 sq ft lot, the house if 900 sq ft.  The house needs work, its old and due to terrancing along the street the house sits on and is at the base of the terraced hill the house floods.  The buyer will need to install a drainage system before they can get a cert of occupancy from the city, est cost to solve the draining and flooding problem is $20-$25,000, house is listed for $680,000 + repair.

This was back in the late 90's and home values were out of control

I told PacTel I would prefer to continue to commute from DFW...

I had your basic starter house on a postage-sized lot in Fountain Valley.  It sold in 2006 for more than what Rubio is asking for his place.

I've also seen what that will buy in some areas in MA.  How's the average price looking these days in places like Martha's Vineyard, Marblehead, or Cambridge, DUmmies?

Yeah, I'll wait.

We can be fairly sure Sen. Rubio bought his house on his own without some shady deal with shady characters like Tony Rezko did for Mr. and Mrs. Obamalamadingdong, who it sounds like had a lot of financial issues and piss-poor credit before he hit the big time with his fake life story book.
