I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, I'm against gov't at any level imposing income taxes, especially without a public vote. On the other hand, many of the bureaucrats that **** up our lives out here in the real America live there, so any bad thing that happens to them at the hands of gov't I'm almost ok with.

I'm so confused.

I'm the same way.  If this applied only to the counties and cities surrounding DC, then I'd say why limit it to 1%, and why can't they make it a "progressive tax" and make it higher for the DC elite.   I don't see why they included Norfolk, and Va. Beach in the bill.

IIRC, the border counties in Maine get an extra 1 percent tacked on because Augusta probably knows they're all heading over to NH for their shit.
