If you were offended by Beyonce's performance last night...

...that was kind of the whole point.

YOU, whoever you are, were supposed to be offended so that others would enjoy it all the more. Beyonce was counting on it. After all, there's nothing particularly sexy about being inoffensive to absolutely everyone, and there's nothing particularly exciting about giving a performance so bland that absolutely no one says "Now hold on, Miss Beyonce Knowles! You've gone too far!" In other words, the fact that you're outraged means she did everything that was expected of her. She had a job to do, a persona to maintain, and she succeeded perfectly. And I say this as someone who's not a huge fan of her music.

But anyway, carry on with the naysaying. It's a thankless job in our culture, but someone has to fill the role.

Difficult to be offended by her as I had that bitch on mute and I surfed the net during her "show".

Kind of off topic..but didn't CBS air the Superbowl in which Janet Jackson had her wardrobe malfunction?

Beyonce looked gorgeous but I didn't enjoy the Superbowl Halftime Show, I don't like today's music and would've preferred an older act up there.

You are correct.  And Nipplegate has it's own Wikipedia entry.  :rotf:

The music didn't impress me, the dancing looked like it was choreographed by a gay man, and the costumes were silly.

Boorring. The whole halftime, I sat there saying "SO?". She had no new material. I think there could have been at least a dozen other acts that could have performed and been more entertaining.

And, no DUmmie, it's not supposed to offend people. It's supposed to ENTERTAIN people. As many people as possible, in fact. That's why Pepsi spent a shit ton of money to have Beyonce do the show and they spent another shit ton of money for the rights to stage the halftime show, in hopes that people would enjoy it and buy their products.

I don't think it was appropriate for children under 10.

I also noted a lack of diversity, every performer was black. I guess that is only a problem if the performers are all not black.

I didn't watch it either but it had to be better than Madonna's. Nothing more pathetic than a 50 year old woman trying to pretend she's still in her 20's.

I eschewed the Super Bowl this year. I don't care about gay marriage and don't wish to be preached to by idiotic millionaire socialists.

I understand pre-game that idiot POTUS of ours was setting gay policy for the BSA. 0bama should just come out before someone outs him.

During the halftime show, I was doing something more productive....

Watching sea monkeys.

Sounds like mine was a better show, too.

The only thing I though of Miss K's "performance" was that it was boring.  Was I supposed to be titillated?  You'd better come up with some different costumes than a broke-ass dominatrix, because that ain't my thing.

I feel sorry for the boys and men growing up today... they wouldn't know sexy if it smacked them in the face.

I was a little shocked by the opening dominatrix quip in the program that came on right after the Superbowl.  The show is called "Elementary" and it came on at 8:00 P.M. my time, when kids are still up.

But it was ABC, probably why I quit watching those channels years ago.

And yes, I thought the half time show was boring too, didn't like the music or the burlesque.

After watching two hours of commercials for their crap TV shows, I think CBS is determined to do the worst job they can possibly do in attracting new viewers.  They're the Buick of TV channels.

Let me know if any of you can see the video at the LINK
Prince/Google/YouTube, whomever seems to block the Prince halftime, but I found a link via Bing: http://www.wat.tv/video/prince-superbowl-half-time-4uv1f_2hztv_.html
Loved it, and Prince (though he is an egomaniac), but wish he had ended with one of his kickass upbeat tunes. JMHO

Prince was a good one.  The Stones weren't bad.  Springsteen was good.
