Cranked up the gNads translator.
This is what poured out.

1. I will tell you why
The gentleman in question has a TV. They have not cut power due to the kid. If you have TV crews filming, insta info for the bad guy.
This is why you will have paper reporting and only paper, or net reporting. You can bet your sweet potatoes local reporters are listening to the scanner and not sharing.
We had a recent swat incident that got ugly. It did not make the nooz....beyond police activity at so and so until it went code four...aka over.
Guy has working TV.
Someone else has sweet potatoes and they're not sharing on paper.
Swats herself.
OK, good so far. Next.

3. Auto correct. Starting to despise it
Corrected already. Where?
In my list of things to get is an actual scanner. The apps are great at home, in the field, not so much.
Got nothing here.

6. I write for an online paper
I can tell you, we would be listening to scanner, but put only what cops put out. This includes photos that could give anything away. So a close up, with the sky behind a public info officer would be it. If I need to work the angle or crop the photo, so be it.
I'm inadaquate for a real news outlet, so I write stuff for free.
Cops don't tell me squat because I'm a loser.
I just make things up and crop photos to make myself look important.

9. Trust me, press is reporting the very little
They are being officially told. Even though likely they know more.
Everybody is concerned for the kid.
Ironically I have been on both sides, as a paramedic I got a major media outlet to play nice in exchange for the international exclusive in a hostage situation. (Yup, speak English, so got to play PIO) As a reporter I know better than put more details than officially necessary when you got this kind of a situation.
There is no news to really report, but, that won't stop me.
I talked to a front desk receptionist at the local TV station.
She said "what?" I know they're hidding something.
I tried Spanglish and she hung up.

10. Those are the generic, staging area. Military style uniforms
Kind of pablum. There are really no details there.
There was a guy with a greenish shirt.
I spilled my oatmeal.
The translator told me to pound sand, and turned its self off.
