The retailer is generating a lot of buzz this week over its new clothing line for juniors that promote abstinence.

The $16.99 sweatpants come in various colors with the message “True Love Waits” on the front and back.

It's certainly a new take on the chastity belt.

“Whether she is lounging around the house, going to practice, or doing her chores,” the description reads. “These soft athletic style crop pants will keep her comfy. Perfect for wearing with her favorite sweatshirt or tee. These athletic pants boldly proclaim just where she stands by pointing out that "True Love Waits" in a large screen print on the front and back of these pants.”

The move seems a bit sexist. It appears there is no abstinence clothing line for young men.

According to MotherJones magazine, the pants are the brainchild of Kmart's in-house designer Piper & Blue. The magazine points out that a blog by the designer is full of advice on summer fashion for young women, but it "is sadly silent on the topic of the abstinence pants. It does, however, justify its similar, albeit less-political sweatpants: 'By pairing a cute tee with embellished sweats, you'll look ready for action, not bed.'"

mmk .. so the fashion industry "tattoo's" a young girls ass like it's a billboard? 

I've seen young girls running around with shorts and sweats with "hottie", "cheerleader" and various other phrases plastered on their tails.  The idea may seem to be a good one (abstinence), but do you really want hormonally driven boys/men staring at your daughters butt?

There is nothing like putting a chastity message that is strategically placed on or next to the erogenous zones in question. I hate to ask what the tshirts will have affixed on the front of them.  :uhsure:

I'd find it alot easier to remind any potential date for my daughter that if she does not come home in the same condition she left in ,I have a .45 and alot of time to fix any problem he creates.

You might consider that, whenever a date shows up for your daughter, is an excellent time to be at the table cleaning your gun. I've been on the wrong end of that one before and was quite respectful. As I recall, he wanted her home by eleven and my idea of a joke was to respond, "I'll have her in bed by ten!". What I actually said was, "Yes sir!".

A friend of mine that was a Chief in the Navy had good luck with a couple signs he had posted in the foyer of the house...."all boys need to leave by 10pm" and others.....he heard a couple kids comment once "her dad has guns".....
