A 15-year-old honors student from Chicago who just got back from performing at President Obama’s inauguration has been shot dead by thugs in a local park, police say.

King College Prep sophomore Hadiya Pendleton was a majorette and a volleyball star, her friends add, who was part of a band and drill team that played for President Obama.

Hadiya Pendleton was among approximately a dozen teens taking cover from the rain in a local park at 2:30 p.m. when a gunman jumped a fence and opened fire, according to reports. Pendleton and other King College Prep students had been dismissed from school early due to exams.

The gunshots sent the entire group running out of the park in a panic, authorities say. Pendleton and a 16-year-old boy were both hit and collapsed about one block away.

Pendleton was shot once in the back and later died at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. The wounded boy was in serious condition Tuesday night, according to the Chicago Tribune. [Emphasis added]

I don't think that is quite true.  Gang violence is spreading and I expect it to expand further, faster in the next few years.

The gangs tend to stay where their prey is unarmed and will continue to do so most of the time.  The left wants to keep their victims unarmed and easy prey for them.   That way they will stay away from the "elitist" good neighborhoods, at least for a little longer.

I don't think it has gone up per say.  We are just going to hear about every single incident since we are "gun nuts" and they won't to demonize it like everything else we believe it.

If we all loved reptiles they would make sure that every incident that a reptile was involved in would be front page news.

Many are illegitimate . That is a term that was used in the 50's & 60's and having a child out of wedlock was looked at very negatively.  Now days it is no big deal and a single woman will parade the bastard baby off and everyone  at work will ooh and aww.

That is the problem in a nutshell. 

I lived next door to a kid that turned out to be a really rotten apple. My dad told my brother and I if he caught us playing with this kid he was going to beat us till we could not stand up. As an adult, he spent many years in the pen for armed robbery.
