Many of you enjoy our back yard bird photos (we have a bread thief)

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Little Star (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Look above and to the right of the squirrel to see the Nuthatch. He is watching the squirrel eating his breakfast. Marta was home today and took the photo. She made sure to take out more bread for both of them and ALL their friends.

We have to restock everything after the turkeys come through.

after which a photograph of a squirrel

One wonders why it was locked; it's in General Discussion after all, in which one generally discusses general things.

I wonder why they locked it instead of moving it to whatever serves as a proper forum.

My neighbor across the street has a bird feeder that I watch sometimes, or rather, he stuck a treated 4X4 post in the ground and has a semi squirrel proof bird feeder (yeah right) on one side and a squirrel feeder on the other.

It works very well, the cardinals, blue jays and various sparrows do nicely on one side and the squirrels do very well on the other. On the other hand I know someone that just attached a platform to the side of a tree where bird seed and bread are placed, they tend to squabble somewhat.

The gaggle of crows (I love crows) that fly over all of them twice a day just laugh.

Use of the word "nuthatch" triggered an immediate response from the inmates of the Mental Illness forum, who considered it a violation of their territory. Steve should have posted it in Bedlam instead.

They should have just unceremoniously moved the thread to The Lounge, without all the drama.  Jeez.

I adore crows too! I put out bird & squirrel feeders. I love watching little critters fly and fritter around my yard. I throw out in-shell peanuts and whole corn for the crows & jays.

Dial up warning for the large number of photos at the link.

http://chasthuglife.blogspot.com/2013/01/a-question-for-our-president.html

Hey, Mr. President! Why aren't you going after THEIR guns? You know, the ones shooting up NYC, Chicago, LA, DC and most other medium to large American cities. Do something about their ILLEGAL firearms, then you can talk about the legal ones. Dumbass! And yeah, some of us have bled for this country, so we have the right to judge.

Here are some of the photos of thugs with their guns we have posted over the past year. And the idiot in the White House says your AR-15 and our thirteen round Model 21's are the problem.

6. Oh Please,

This is so racist and would likely be found on a kkk website. Not appropriate for du. And if you were listening. the President did mention the strets of Baltimore, Chicago, etc. in his remarks. You lost my respect Omaha Steve

Well you DUmmies can all sweep it under the rug, but there is something called reality.  Steve ought to get credit for at least noticing it.

You have never seen Bellevue NE then?. Yes it is suburbia but It's mostly military living their or former military. The hoodrats live in South Omaha or North Omaha and hang out in the local malls like Westroads and The Crossroads which will soon be demolished to make room for who knows what because the current owners can't stick to a plan and won't tell anyone what they are really doing.  That is of course when the Hoodrats are not out doing their activities in other parts of the city like robbing my former employer Best Buy an hour before closing time in the middle of the city.

I don't know who or what jehop61 is but, calling OmahaSteve a racist is funny. Might as well call him a pineapple because it's not true. He maybe dumb as a stump but a racist like TiT he isn't. We all have reasons to pound on him for his less then honest approach to politics and what he stands for or his other failings but at least we here try and be truthfull about it.

I haven't seen Bellevue, but neither have the DUmpmonkeys.

Just like the DUmmies haven't seen Pam Dawson's rundown little split level starter.

The whole point is to make the DUmmies envious.

I was about a foot away. I took the pic with my phone.

Gotta agree with you, AW.  OS may be a lot of things, but a racist is decidedly not one of them.

(It's ironic that no one over there defended him isn't it?  Yet, his friends here--good and decent people, all of us--are willing to stick up for him.)
