Clinton lashes out at senator over Benghazi questioning
« on: January 23, 2013, 12:37:31 PM »

"What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday lashed out over the claim that the administration misled Americans about the nature of the Libya terror attack by asserting that it was the result of a protest, raising her voice during a Senate hearing and asking: "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Clinton, in what may be her final set of testimony as secretary, pointedly challenged Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson when he claimed the department could have "easily" determined what happened that night by interviewing staffers who were evacuated.

He was referring to the administration's initial claim that the attack sprung out of a protest. It was later determined there was no protest on the ground in Benghazi. Diplomatic security agents said as much to the FBI during interviews on Sept. 14, despite administration claims to the contrary two days later.

"That was a piece of information that could have been easily -- easily -- ascertained, within hours if not days," Johnson said.

"We were misled that there were supposedly protests and something sprang out of that. ... The American people could have known that (there was no protest) within days, and they didn't know that."

At that point, Clinton began to raise her voice.

"With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans," she said.

"I understand," Johnson said.

Clinton continued to speak, raising her voice and gesturing: "Was it because of a protest or is it because of guys out for a walk one night and they decide they go kill some Americans?

"What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Clinton, lowering her voice, then said it is the administration's job to "figure out what happened" and prevent it from happening again.

Nice dodge, Hillary.

Except it ain't working.

You're holding the bag. And it's leaking blood all over your shoes.

But that's okay. It's not going anywhere. What's one dead Ambassador and 3 others who died defending American soil? What difference, at this point, does it make?

I think the delays were done intentionally hoping the testimony would be forgotten about by the low information voters that are 44's base.

Her "at this point what does it matter" comment validates this train of thought. She would have been more honest if she'd just come out and said "personally I don't give a f**k".

I watched part of the questioning and was  :puke: she filabustered every time she was asked a question talking B-S off topic. This is a favorite tactic used by the lying lefties.

It's an act.  Nothing more.

The parents of the dead reported that talking to her when the bodies of their children were off-loaded at Andrews, they might as well have been seeking sympathy from an iceberg.

What does it matter? It matters that four Americans are dead and the US Government that they worked for stood by and did nothing and now is just putting on a dog and pony show instead of getting to the answers they should be looking for. Those people that sat on their hands while pleas for help when it was barely hours away need to be jailed and never let out. Sadly though it'snot going to happen because liberalism and Dear Leader are above all of that law abiding stuff. IF this had been Bush in office they would have had the gallows built the next day in front of the White House.

WASHINGTON — Republican Sen. Rand Paul said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had been negligent in conducting her job, and said that if he were president, he would have relieved her of her post.

Paul said that the fact that she was not aware of the requests of more security for the U.S. Embassy in Libya constituted “a failure of leadership” and said it was “inexcusable.”

“I think ultimately…you accept the culpability for the worst tragedy since 9/11,” Paul said.

“Had I been president at the time and I had found that you had not read the cables from Benghazi, you had not read the cables from Ambassador Stevens,” he went on, “I would have relieved you of your post.”

Paul accused Clinton of being directly responsible for the loss of lives in the September 11, 2012 attacks.

“Not to know of the requests for security really, I think, cost these people their lives,” he said.

Not gonna happen.  Obinga said "Jump!" and the smarterest, most independent woman in the country said "How high?"  She just fell on her sword for obinga, painting herself as one of the most pathetic figures in recent history.  So much promise, now all gone...

Well, she claimed she was "done" in politics after her tour of duty as SecState, which was about as sincere and meaningful as a fart in a hurricane.

She's ambitious, however. And she won't rest until she's once again in the driver's seat -- the Oval Orifice just might fit that bill....

Besides, the average voter has a very, very short memory. This Benghazi thing will be a long-distant memory by the time things start heating up again.

Hi,

For me to add my 2 cents worth would be preaching to the choir.  My biggest concern is our short memory.

Whether it was the Rose Law Firm, serving as legal counsel to communists, covering up the Whitewater land deal, getting political payoffs from Tyson foods theoretically trading futures for her, or lying about Benghazi; it is all the same thing.  Lies that drive us nuts, are covered up by the media, and they continue to get away with.

She draws another "under the rug" that would take any republican's career to toast in a minute, and we think she is finished.  No chance!  BO plenty and the Clintons think they are invincible and so far they have been.  It is going to take something a whole lot worse that the media cannot cover up to bring her down.

Biden will try to run in 2016.  The democrat party, sensing defeat, will call upon Hillary to ride in on a white horse and save the day; here comes superbroad to the rescue.  Look at all her wonderful experience, leaders around the world look up to her; she will save the day.

All the while republicans will be saying but, but, but, look at the facts....  Hasn't worked yet.  And what did the republicans do on the committee?  I did not see them doing much of a number on her either.

I consider myself an optomist most of the time, but also a realist.  The Clintons have got away with this crap for decades, so what's new?  2016, no matter how bad the economy gets, is not going to be a cakewalk.  We better hope the 35 Republican governors, with republican legislatures force through more voter ID laws.

BTW, did anyone see that Walker won the appeal on limiting the power of teachers union in WI?  Funny how it was not mentioned much.  Gee I wonder why.

regards,

5412--I agree 100%. However, 4 years is a long way off. Biden and Hillary have had health problems in the past. So, it is no gimme that either one will run in 2016.

I did not watch the hearings because I am tired of listening to a bunch of liars in this administration. Plus, most Repubs are too chickenshit to get in her face.
