Who was it that was putting the brakes on? I don't remember specifically which ones were so against exposing that bunch of bullshit.
It's been so long ago now I'd have to see a list of names to remember which ones; most of them went over to neutralunderground later, and I haven't seen any name lately at our old home that sparks remembrance.
But there were a bunch of them always whining, "oh, I'm so
tired of Andy," or "oh, let's don't pick on a poor dying man," and it caught the attention of the (now former) owner, who at the end of May 2005 banned any further discussion of the issue.
A significant number of moderators were also anti-open and honest fundraising, but I dunno if that was each of their personal inclinations, or if they were just following orders from the owner.
Our old home allowed primitives to register and post, and thus provided the
only forum where both proponents and opponents of open and honest fundraising could state their cases, a true public service, but then the wrong side got shut down.
Also, it's possible some of the "concerned" people on this side of the aisle were actually moles.
If supporters of open and honest fundraising hadn't been having to fight this two-front war--against the primitive scammers and against the sob-sisters--the issue would've been resolved much faster, our old home famous, and conservativeunderground possibly grown to larger than freerepublic even.
