Derwent Inktense Pencils
« on: January 17, 2013, 05:38:11 PM »
I just received a tin of 36 I ordered about a week ago. These are like watercolor pencils only when you get it wet it turns to ink not water color. More vibrant color. I am so excited, I can't wait to use them.

How do you use them?  Make a drawing and then wet the paper, draw on wet paper or wet the tip?

Well I'm going to use them to color in stamps. You have to use a permanent ink to stamp with or the stamp will bleed.

I have several water brushes (a paint bush that you fill with water). You squeeze it when you want a little more water. But you can also use a reqular paint brush and just add a little water. Once you let the first layer dry you can layer another color and blend. The first color won't reactivate.

I looked on youtube for someone reviewing them and found this:

You can also use a wet paintbrush and dab it on the pencil to get some color and apply it that way.

That's a lot of work.  I'll stick with my Crayons.
