Spider on my TV screen...
« on: January 17, 2013, 01:57:29 PM »
While I was watching Dark Shadows last night, this black spider started crawling on my wide screen TV.  So I got a tissue and went over to the screen to squish and grab it and guess what...it wasn't on the screen...it was INSIDE the screen between the actual T.V. and the clear cover!

Never seen that before.  So I tried pushing on the screen to see if I could squish it and then thought...better not do that or he'll be there forever.  So I just sat there watching this spider crawl all over the screen during my show.  Funny thing was there was a crypt scene with webs in it and this spider was still crawling all over the place.  I have no idea how it got in there.

I never hear about this kind of stuff happening to anyone else...  :rotf:

Holy crap.

I bet if you took the cover off the back of the TV, the spider would probably find its way out (you may have to find some motivation for him... maybe a lady spider).  I have a friend that works at a local audio/video repair place who works on flat-screen TVs.  They could do something like that.

The funniest thing was that I told the hubby about it after he came home from work...but this was four beers later too.  He said..."oh that just can't happen because that's sealed too tight".  I said, are you callin me a liar and do you really think I'm makin this up?  So I turned on the T.V. and said now watch...it'll come out.  So we sat there and watched and waited for the damn thing to come back and it never did.  Then he said..."are you sure it wasn't on the show and not the screen?"   I said....wtf...do you really think I'm that stupid that I'd be chasing a spider that was on the show and not the screen?

So we had a lil fight there last night over that.  Duh...like I'd be trying to squish a spider used in the show and not a real one.  I didn't even have any wine last night either.   I should know by now that after his fourth beer...don't try to talk to him unless I'm on my third glass of wine.

Would you believe me if I told you I saw a flying pig yesterday? About noon? Circling my house? Causing the dogs to go apeshit?

No?

I didn't think so either.

Did you try changing the channel to make sure it was real and not part of the TV show?

Yes.  And the whole term "my computer has a bug" comes from the old days when computers where as big as rooms and roaches would crawl in and short circuit an electical compentent of the computer.

I talked to a guy who used to work on computers and he said he'd found just about everything in them including a dead mouse once.

Haven't seen the spider since that night though...I just hope it didn't have any babies in there...  :o

I had a friend once that asked me to work on a computer he got for his daughter from his ex-wife. His daughter was now living with him so he wanted her to be able to use the computer but it wasn't working. I soon found out why. The second I opened it up (old Compaq) I had to jump back as it was infested with roaches. They were everywhere. I took a picture, picked it up and threw it in the garbage outside. It was the nastiest thing I have ever seen. I later found out that his wife was a pig and never cleaned. He said that was the main reason he left her.

Other than computers with an inch-thick layer of dust inside, the worst computer I had was a white one.  It was brown until I started cleaning it.  That woman must have been smoking five packs a day.

Laptops are even worse... they gather bugs, pet hair, dust, cigarette tar, and vomit.

Ah jeez...that sounds like something from that show they call "Hoarders" on TV.  I think calling them "hoarders" is a code word for nasty, dirty pigs who never clean anything.  Of course crap will pile up if you never clean anything.  I think it's funny how they try to associate nastiness with a clinical name as liberals do.  It's a case of where they're just lazy nasty people who simply don't care any more.  A lot of people go through hard times and still stay clean because that's the way they were raised.  I don't know how people can live like that.  I can understand a little clutter, but some of these homes they've actually had to demolish because of the level of vermin inside them...ewee...yuck.
