what has been your anti gun fantasy ( if any) ?
I have had moments of real anger and can openly admit to fantasizing about things that are impossible and/or illegal that have provided me with some relief ...

Two of them are

1) I invent a magic shield ( like the one in independence day) around everyone - and all guns are instantly rendered useless.

2) I become invisible and do some terrible things I wouldn't normally do (all for greater good I assure you)

Her again:

will stop bothering ME about guns, and get rid of HIS. The compromise right now is that there is not a gun in every room and they are in a gun safe, which I declined the combination to. Small start, but I want MORE.

While the Easter Bunny is visiting each house to deliver Easter treats he should turn all their guns and ammo into chocolate or replace them with NERF guns.

I sometimes think that if some of these leaders, like Lapeirre, suffered a loss of a loved one because of one of these mass shootings, then maybe they might flip sides

The other one I can't say in detail. Let's just say it involves a very large NRA meeting with all the most extreme members in attendance.

25. I've had multifacetted fantasies

Some involve the rise in the perception that ETs are here or coming here and that if that were so they would somehow eliminate/silence all guns, especially the weapons of war. At the same time it would be a real plus if they reprogrammed everyone to have and show respect to each other, everyone everywhere, including wildlife (including plant life and marine life).

Another is a super something ray that would do pretty much the same things... or we could just somehow suddenly wake up and discover the value in all life forms and have/show respect for them.

Just to be clear on this...their ideal way to stop gun violence is to kill advocates of the 2nd amendment?

With that kind of contradictory, compartmentalized thinking it is no wonder that those who do snap and go on rampages are usually leftists.

While your Republican husband is at work, some illegal aliens break into your husbands house looking for an easy payday. You're too distracted watching the munch on PMSNBC to notice that they have entered the room. They, however, notice the gun safe. They want you to tell them the combination and you tell them that you don't know it. They don't believe you. Hell. I wouldn't believe you either. The ensuing torture is too unbearable to describe.

There isn't a thug in this world that would believe you when you tell them you don't know a combination to a safe in your own home.

When will the DUmbasses understand that #2 is there to keep the others safe?
Probably never.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I'm surprised that no DUmmie mentioned something like The Trigger

Quote
The Trigger is a 1999 science fiction novel by Arthur C. Clarke and Michael P. Kube-McDowell. It is an attempt to explore the social impact of technological change.

A group of scientists invent, by accident, a device that detonates all nitrate-based explosive in its vicinity, thus providing good protection against most known modern conventional weapons.

My goodness, the DUches surre do love to demonstrate their lack of maturity and inner hate. These are the people that should not be allowed to be near a weapon, mush less own one.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

If there was such a thing, I expect that particular use would be pretty damned low on the inventor's priority list.

Let me remind the ET-imagining DUmmie that technological advances are usually made by two groups of people:

1) those looking to make money
2) those who are trying to kill other people

A civilization of interstellar travelers is far more likely to be looking into setting up a resort for overworked Alpha Centaurians or to turn us into a race of slaves than to be into all that drugged up hippie bullshit.

Not so much, Clarke turned out to be a notable fancier of young boys in his later years, so I'm sure he has quite a following among the DUmmies...I cut my SF teeth on the stuff he wrote in the 50s and  60s, before any of that became known.  Unfortunately for the premise, there are explosives that aren't nitrate-based, and after a period of adjustment, small arms ammunition loaded with variants of them would reappear...corrosive shit, but shootable.

But think of the possibility of placing every plane passenger in an explosive proof booth and then turning the Trigger on.  If they're trying to get weapons on the plane, poof, they're gone. No trial needed.

That would be great until the ever-helpful press broke the 'Nitrate' thing, then they'd start showing up with the other stuff.  Bomb dogs can generally detect it, at least...I suppose we could still feed them to the bomb dogs...
