2. I'm launching a new business in January

I will never give up. I will never give in.

I am 60 years old and have never had what most would call a "real job". I have never enjoyed a "paid" vacation or employer-provided insurance.
 
I have had - at times - more money than I could spend and I have slept on people's floors. I have played for tips.
 
But, somehow, I have locked down the Next Big Thing in the #1 most popular and expensive hobby in the US (Home Gardening). It took three years of nothing but hard work, but I got it done.
 
I will never give up.

That being said, I totally agree with you, Vincardog, most Boomers have no fall-back. They were raised with certain expectations and not trained to react to realities. Everyone thought a degree was all it took, that everything would always be just fine. The Security Blanket that would take care of anything just walked out the door with Linus.

Also, if DollarBillHines was 60 years old--not 62 or 63, but 60--in late December of 2012, which means he was born in 1952, how does that square with his being TomInTib?  TomInTib's birthday is October 14--of what year? TIT claimed to have done acid every day of 1968. He claimed to have been on a Navy SEAL team in Vietnam, '69-'72 ("I am the 2nd-most-decorated enlisted man in the history of the US Navy."). And didn't he hang out with famous people and go on some sort of cross-country motorcycle journey in the 1960s? Etc.

Isn't 60 a little young to have been doing all those things in the 1960s? I am turning 60 in March. I didn't even graduate high school until 1970, and I was the youngest one in my class; most of my classmates were born in 1952. At our young age in the 1960s, neither I nor my classmates were doing anything like what Tom says he was doing then.

Are DBH and TIT the same person, i.e., Tom Wright? It seemed clear to me that they are. Is DBH lying about his age, i.e., he's not 60 but really in his mid-60s? Or what?

BTW, a random piece of information: On October 14, 2007, DUmmie ellaydubya said, "Tom is an old friend, the father of my sons, and my husband (legally)." Since then, though, Tom of course has moved on to greener pastures. His "GF" now, in whose house in Sonoma he lives, is a very wealthy woman who does marketing for the wine industry.

I don't think he was on a SEAL team.  He would have been 17 in 69, could not go to Vietnam till you were 18, so looks like he arrived in 70.  That said over the past few years I have met more Navy SEALs, Army/Marine Sniper and Special Forces people on the forums than I ever knew in 26 years of the military and I knew a Lot of folks and al lot in the SOCOM world, in fact General Richard Potter who I worked for, promoted me, he was the Delta Force founder, General Wayne Downing was my boss and SOCOM commander, I wrote many a paper and briefing for him.  I am not a SpecOps guy, my speciality was something else (IT), but my basic branch was Infantry and my last 10 years on active duty I worked at a MACOM 4 star command.

Yet the forms are FULL of these guys...and I make it one of my efforts to weed them out.

Wanna flush the guy?  If you went in the military in the 60's then you were assigned a service number.  Mine was US54761125, when it was given to me it was about 2 am at Ft Polk La only a few hours after I arrived after a trip on a Greydog Bus.  A BIG BLACK Drill Sgt told me my SN and told me I WOULD remember it, I did and most soldiers of that time frame received their SN by the same guy, a hulk of a man that would make Chuck Norris tremble.  I have never met a soldier that did not know his SN...After the 60's they went to SS #.

Snipers:  If they were Army, allow me to provide some insight.  Its a short school, about 2 weeks IIRC, most anyone can go and it does NOT produce a MOS (military Occupational speciality).  Most folks that flunk out due so from failing the camouflage test.  We believe we can teach ANYONE to be a expert shot, but its the effort it takes to get to the point you can take the shot, that is what washes out most folks.  Kinda like welding, for every 5 min you weld, you have about 55 min or prep and fab...

So that means TomInTib was born on October 14, 1948, which would be about right for his 1960s adventures, but which would make him 64 years old now, not 60. However, DollarBillHines claims to be only 60 years old (as of December 21, 2012).

Yet we have seen what looks like conclusive proof that DBH and TIT are one and the same person, namely, Tom Wright, formerly of Tiburon, now of Sonoma, California. Is Tom (who had claimed to look four years younger than he is) lying about his age now, so as to impress or hold on to his very wealthy GF, who is about 59 or 60 herself?

I operated without a Birth Certificate for over 55 years.

Armed with only a Certificate of Birth from the State in which I was born, I somehow managed to obtain a Texas Driver's License, get into and out of the U.S. military, obtain a U.S. Passport, travel hundreds of thousands of miles by air (post9-11) with an expired driver's license accompanied by my Certificate of Birth, vote, get a CA Driver's License (without having to take the Driving Test despite the fact that I had not possessed a valid I.D. for years and have never parked parallel in my life) and all kinds of other crap.

When I went to get a new passport to replace my expired document a clerk at the Post Office noticed that my only I.D. was a Certificate of Birth and was not good enough documentation for a new Passport.

So I called above-mentioned State, told them my name and date of birth. They asked for my mother's maiden name. I gave them a cc# and had an official Birth Certificate in a couple of days.

Do I have to give back all of my frequent flier miles, Mr. Trump?

Can I get back those years when people were shooting at me?

Even that's kind of a 'Nowadays' thing, back in the day there were divisional and in-country schools for it, even people who were totally unschooled but great marksmen, who were designated snipers.  Not being an MOS or having a special badge, it was a whole lot more informal of a thing in the past than it is now.
