poll: are the primitives going to get their wet dream?
« on: January 13, 2013, 08:16:30 PM »
Does one suppose the primitives are going to achieve their wet-dream of getting the Second Amendment repealed, and banning firearms?

I don't think so; as long as the primitives yap about decent and civilized people owning legally owning firearms, and say nothing about the hordes in inner blue cities having them illegally, they're hypocrites.

Of course hypocrisy has never deterred the primitives before.

I don't think it'll happen because of our experience with that noble liberal experiment, Prohibition.

Before Prohibition, booze trickled down the streets of America.

Once Prohibition became the law, booze flooded the streets of America, overrunning the gutters.

If the primitives get their wet-dream, their fantasy, there'll be more violence in America than there ever has been, and I'm concerned because while I don't care if a primitive gets hurt, I care very much when decent and civilized people get hurt.

Disclosure: franksolich does not own a firearm, nor do I know how to use one.

It's a matter of choice; all my brothers had firearms and knew how to use them, but guns as self-defense don't suit my temperament and my skills, which lay in other directions.

I've never been tested, but it's possible I can do more damage to someone with an S/K adjustable wrench than I could with an 88mm cannon.

Although I do appreciate it when people around me have firearms and know how to use them.  It makes my life immeasurably safer.

The reason the Second Amendment is so important to me is because it's more than just about guns.

It's about the God-given right of self-defense.

That's what the primitives and other gun-grabbers want to take away from us; not so much the guns, but our ability to defend ourselves.  They want us to be dependent upon only governmentally-authorized agents to protect us.

And we all know too how well that's worked, other times, other places.

Yes, they'll get a total ban and confiscation regimen.  Obama has already shown that he doesn't give a damn about the constitution and that he'll rule by fiat when it appears he won't get his way with congress.  Of course, how effective that ban and confiscation program is up to us.  If I'm right, then large swaths of the country will be uninhabitable no-go zones for federal agents.

Just as it was for federal agents trying to enforce Prohibition.

Obama will be impeached once we get a super-majority in both houses because the newly installed governors had to replace all the politicians that fled overseas.

I voted "no, not at all".

Each house of Congress must pass the proposed amendment by 2/3. I have no faith in the House leadership, but I believe  there are not 290 votes for a repeal. In the Senate, I think there are not 67 votes for such an amendment. And I think that there are not 38 state legislatures which lean left enough to ratify a repeal amendment.

Edited to correct grammar.

I think they will get something symbolic passed.  The definitions of all of the scary weapons have cleverly been redefined by the Progressives.  No one will have any idea what the new ban means, just that The One was the instigator, and he will be lauded by the knee-pad wearing media.

I think this.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I'm with you, Big Dog, and with Vagabond.  The country knows that confiscation always follows registration.  More and more people, every day, are realizing this.  And, within those numbers, are people who will fight to protect their own.

If not as a result of this "crisis", then almost certainly at the next one, Dear Leader will go in front of the cameras, wring his hands, and say enough is uhhh... enough; I'm banning the possession or sale of these heinous weapons of mass destruction.  DUmbasses will whoop and holler and there will be much proclaiming of "Take that, you evil reich wingers", and then there will be great weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth when the jackbooted thugs do not pass by their doors.

Then they came for me!

More like, "They came for them, and the eeeeee-vil reich wingers skipped town/showed the insurance claim for the "boating accident"/showed the police report for the "burglary".  Then when they came looking for useless drains on society, there was nobody I could run to get protection from..."
