I really don't even see how this pageant keeps going. It has to be losing money. I have never watched it except a few times when I was like 10yrs old. I am not meaning to say it this way but why does a woman get out there and put herself through this pageant of judging instead of just working and earning the money for a scholarship?
Gina, it all starts out when the child is very young and usually the mothers live vicariously through them. Those little girl beauty pageants and on to the talent parts that force the little ones to practice 4 hours a day be they have talent or not.
A kind of dark place where parents need to have a bragging point to show what great parents they are. Happens all the children's lives. Bumper stickers to tell the world YOUR child is an honor student, a football or basket ball outstanding player in grade 11, a cheerleader in Jr. High school. On and on it goes.
One must have sponsors for their daughter to afford to pay for all the trips, the clothing, the beauty treatments and hair designers. Teeth need to be straighten and the little ones put on a diet. In the case of the little girl shows the Pedophiles sponsors figure that to sponsor a 4 year old gives them access to the child in another 5 years. A very nasty part of child beauty Pageants that are ignored by even the wealthy that need no sponsors, just a club membership for the judges.
Much like the Dog shows that the winners are the friends of the breeders, or friend of others that may have an interest in a Kennel.
This starts early, few Pageant winners come from everyday people, big money backs this, for reasons of their own.
Don't get me started on Sara Paulin, came from a less then middle class family, some how her parents struggled to put her through College, but where did the money come from all the classes on deportment, how to walk, how to dress and how to address a crowd with confidence ??
Gina these Pageants are a pain in my Butt, I remember as do you what happend to a little girl dressed as a 20 year old in pageants, found dead in the family's home a few years ago and the mother wrote a ransome note, Mother died since then, but, the question still remains of [Who done it].
So I have a knock dead 14 year old girl and she is smart not so talented but able to hold her own. A beauty pageant comes up and the other contestants have sponsors, a dress can cost $300 so off we go to find her one for $10.00 at Good Will. Where does she come from, has she any family of importance or stature. ?
You know the drill, unless she is ready for the casting couch and get sponsors with a label of the best BJ in town, she will just fade off, get married and and have a couple of kids.-------Perhaps she escaped with her life from consequences she never saw coming.
