Those "patriotic" postage stamps

Yes, I do use snail mail. For all invoices and payments and letters. I use online payments only for local utilities (we also have landline).

So I have been purchasing several booklets of the "forever" stamps: first the bell and then whatever caught my fancy, like the bonsai ones.

But some time ago I purchased the flag stamps, not realizing that each one, in addition to the flag, also has a word added: Liberty, Freedom, Equality and Justice.

Now, I don't have problems with using these words to describe our country, though I know that some on DU will take exception. I do, however, object to having letters coming from me carrying them.

Just as I will not wear a piece of clothing with the American flag and any patriotic words, I object to adding them to anything being displayed or mailed by me.

Time to replenish my supply. I will be very careful what I purchase now.

Sigh.

"I'm going to make this REAL SIMPLE for you freepers: you will do whatever it takes to keep us union monkeys employed with full benefits and pensions for sorting letters and driving little white trucks. But don't you DARE try to put anything patriotic on the stamps. That's where we draw the ****in' LINE. Now then, I need 55 cents for a stamp, because I feel a few government-funded abortions coming on."

Some DUmmy dissent but not nearly enough. DUmmies: the US is good enough to employ them and feed them until they die, but not good enough to put its ****ing core values on its ****ing stamps.
This signature is intended to remind you that we are on conquered land.

The things DUmmies bitch about.

No wonder conservatives are consistently shown to be happier people.

It wasn't a long journey.  One could argue they've been bat-shit insane since 2001.

What do you mean "gone"? DU has been pretty much full blown batshit insane since they came online.
