A Mexican restaurant in Columbia, South Carolina is being criticized for its racist T-shirts showing a wooden trap using tacos as bait with the caption “HOW TO CATCH AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT”.

As the Palmetto Public Record notes, a South Carolina reporter tweeted a photo yesterday of someone who appears to be a Taco Cid restaurant employee wearing the offensive shirt.

ThinkProgress spoke with an employee at Taco Cid who confirmed that restaurant workers indeed wear the shirt. He also noted that patrons can purchase it as well.

Taco Cid, a one-star restaurant that has shuttered franchises in recent years, appears to have cribbed the design from the “Offensive Obscene & Sex Related Tees” section of an online apparel designer.

There were a bunch of Mexican immigrants that worked at a Taco Bell that was on my daily delivery route. Even though one can only do so much to improve food from that place, whatever they did, made it much better than any of the other locations I've been to.
And the hot sauce was served in little to go cups, no packets anywhere. It was definitely not taco bells hot sauce.
I miss that place.

Bullshit. ALL fast food companies have a set procedure as to the proper way that their food is prepared. Any deviation will result in immediate dismissal.

They create a comfort zone. The Taco Bell you get in Cleveland will taste like the Taco Bell you get in Denver.

It's like the owner is trying to make this last one fail.

I just hope that it's in the true fast food style of stand at the register and they hand you food after you pay. If there are actual waiters depending on tips in this place then they're well and truly ****ed sideways.

It's on I-85 between Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA.

(Went there to see Bob Seger in concert last year.)

You mean one sucks worse than the other?  Is that possible?

One of the few things I miss about CA--throw a dead cat, and you'll hit 20 good Mexican restaurants/take-out joints.  Although some places might use the dead cat--those were usually evidenced by the big letter "C" from the health department in the window.  Those places I avoided.

The last time I got food at a ghetto Taco Bell I was not able to get thru the first burrito before I needed to go to the bathroom. It was the 3rd bite when I felt a grumble in my gut and I was like "uh oh...". Lucky for me I had brought the food home to eat instead of eating it in the truck and made to the toilet with seconds to spare.

Never had that happen with food from any other Taco Bells.

Very true. when in Kauai (2008) we went to a Taco Bell in Kapaa. It was probably the best Taco Bell I've ever been to, and better than most of the restaurants on the island, sad to say.

Whether the food is good or bad I can't say, but either way it's got to be better than Maurice's BBQ.

I don't know about where you live, but most of the illegals in my area who aren't picking produce are split 50/50 working a either at Chinese restaurants or a Mexican restaurants.

I was there a little over a year ago visiting Parker-Hannifin for work.  Unexpectedly had a roaring good time there in the later hours at of all places...Applebees.  Met some guy named TJ, who was quite the character to say the very least.

Seems like about the only place to go there to have a few other than Applebees was FATZ, which had excellent food by the way. 

Anything else to do there?  I suspect I'll be visiting again.
