OK. I have serious reservations about doing this, but I'm going to come out here on DU.

I was raped.

It happened when I was in the Navy. A group of three or four threw a blanket over me pinned me down and used a mop handle. I never saw my attackers, had no idea who they were, but I got to spend the rest of my time at sea wondering if every face I saw on that ship was one of them.

No, I did not report it; it was 1972, and we were in combat. Reporting it would have probably made my life a thousand times worse.

It was more than twenty years before I told anybody.



Only question I have is: where was Seal Team Six at the time?

14. The VA sends me a check every month.


The Navy gave me a 10% disability, small consolation but at least I never have to worry about getting healthcare.

Probably not a day goes by that I don't wonder what became of them...karma and all.

Yup.  I vote blanket party.  Our company scrounge got more than one in Boot.  Who knows where a long handled brush might have wound up, with all that soap; it cuts down on the hash marks in the skivies too.  That boy (co scrounge) was plain filthy with a real aversion to soap and water.   :whistling:

I saw Hillary Clinton in Don Sebastiani's urinal.
During the holidays, I attended a party at Don Sebastiani's (of Sebastiani plonk fame) recently re-built mansion on Sonoma Mountain. As much as I detest Don (and he, me), his parties are great and we are always invited (GF is a Very Important Person in the Industry).

Don razed the family abode and built a fabulous home on the site. He is one of those "born on third, thinks he hit a triple" kind of repugs.

I walked into The Man Cave (he actually calls it by that term) and it was just garish - red leather walls and floor, huge screen, gold chandelier, bar, the works. In the corner was a pedestal sink and a urinal. No stall or partition, just right there. I thought it was weird as all get-out. I walked over to the sink, looked down, and there was a laminated photo of Ms. Clinton in the bottom of the urinal.

What a punk mofo.

Colin Goff (Redstone on DU) told me about this site years ago, but I never thought about it until I was going thru some old emails and ran across his mention of this site.

It was a day when I was archiving emails from dead friends. Colin died Nov 1, 2011. Ironically, on that same day I came upon an email from the late, great Wiley White that also mentioned DU. Wiley passed away a few weeks after Colin.

Those are the reasons I am here - and I constantly marvel at the wonderfully diverse folks who populate this village.

I was curious about the above. I have seen CounterfitDollarBill mention a girlfriend but not a Laplander girlfriend. Then I found the below. Forgive me if it's done been posted. I mean other than the time TiT originally made the claim.
