Let's repeal the 22nd amendment, or at least amend it (the term limit one)

starting immediately.

and if not repealing it, let's allow ALL presidents past and present, to return after say 10 or 15 years.

Especially as the founding fathers did not intend to have term limits and it was only done as a jealous act by the repubs, who instantly regretted doing it as Ike and Reagan could have possibly won 3rd terms.

(and so could Bill Clinton in 2000).

As we have IMHO the singular best president we are ever going to get from this day forward, and with people living longer, and all that.

While it is on the state level- we should do
Like Jerry Brown did as Governor, both the youngest and oldest, and the best governor of California ever.

Oh God no we will barely survive 8 years under the preezy we do not need him coming back in 20 years to finish the damage.  :banghead:

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

The left really wants The Chicago Jesus to be Emperor for Life.

Are you kidding? Obama is in the perfect position to get it too. I won't be surprised if he gets another term. It's already sinking into mainstream discussions, not only on uber liberal boards and websites. Believe me, by 2015 there will be serious discussions about this.

If studying politics has taught me one thing, crazy is the norm! So what seems crazy now, and what appears like it will never happen now, won't be crazy in the very very near future.

If that were to happen, him becoming emperor for life, it would be a short reign.

They can discuss it all day long, but when it comes down to it, there are enough red states that would make ratification of repealing the amendment impossible.

The only way he will serve a day beyond Jan 20th of 2017 (or whatever day it will be in 2017) will be if he and his party ignores the Constitution and if he tried to pull a stunt that like I doubt he would survive the rest of that day.

Someone needs to 'DUmb down' the way the Amendment process works, so this primitive might understand why his idea is never going to materialize.

Venezuela will be looking for a new socialist messiah pretty soon.

Down there you can declare yourself president for life.

Thats a start -  :-)

I would add some 'percussive reinforcement' to your notion, in the form of a smack upside the primitive's head.

I'm not a violent man, but dammit if I wouldn't love to smack a primitive or 12.

Actually, what I am hearing in my libtard circles is that they are already planning to talk about how this amendment wasn't in the original constitution. Though it was a formal tradition until a democrat FDR broke it again. So, it's pretty clear what this power grabby President will do.

That's not good.  It's a short step from DU to MSNBC to Harry Reid or Dickhead Durbin.

DUmbing down the way the amendment process works would be like trying to transmit the entire Webster's Unabridged Dictionary in Morse code, in one sitting.

So, uh, which amendments were in the original constitution?

Why do you suppose they're called "amendments"?

Well.  DUmmies are against the 1st and 2nd amendments, and they  wouldn't care if Obama kicked open everyone's front door to take their weapons, (4th), and the 13th(?), they want to keep blacks on their plantations.  So, I would guess that most of the amendments could be done away with and the DUmmies would be happy.

There are several amendments that are not part of the original constitution. So if we use their logic we can deny women the right to vote, we can bring back slavery and a whole bunch of other things. Friggin idiots.
