A mole on DU
« on: December 29, 2012, 07:45:39 AM »
A few months back I had a mole hunting contest in which a few long term, high post count moles on DU allowed me to give some hints as to their identities. Naturally, the moles are so proficient at moiing that even with hints they were not discovered. In these past few weeks I hadn't give much thought to the old contest until yesterday when I read one of the posts on DU by one of the high post count moles. The post in question pissed me off.

I can appreciate that to be a successful mole a person has to be different than what they really are, but I think there still should be limits.

In order to fit in at DU this guy has acted like a druggie. He's ranted and raved. He's pretended to despise Republicans, Christians, and normal people. I can understand the need for all of that, but in my mind he crossed the line when he made this particular post.

As I've said, it pissed me off, and I confronted him about it. He doesn't give a damn what I think. He said that I've already given my word that I will not give his name or any specific posts and that if I can't give out that info that it doesn't matter. He claims that he is so ingrained into DU and that DUers are so inherently stupid that there is no way in hell that they'll call him out. He figures he may get a couple questions by PM but a few well constructed lies will cover those.

He's correct that I gave my word, and a fictional spirit-guide's word is his bond. I can, however, give some more clues.

This stinking mole has made the top 20 in Conservative Cave's DUmmie of the Year Awards for the past few years. He has over 50,000 posts. His user name both begins and ends in a consonant. The two consonants appear close together in the alphabet and both are closer to Z than to A.

For any lurking DUers, this guy is making you people look even worse than what you are. He's just there to laugh at you and make you look stupid. While I'm the first to admit that we do the same thing over here at the Cave, at least we do it AT THE CAVE. He's actually doing it at DU. Your own house. You can ignore this and keep him if you choose, but even as part Irish Setter I wouldn't want a dog taking a dump all over my home.

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.

Are you saying what I think you're saying?  If it's the DUmmie that I and CCers thought it was at the time of the contest, yes I do think a line was crossed.  I do believe that if you're going to mole, you can do things to lead DUmmies to show their natural nastiness, but there is a point where you've gone too far.

Maybe, given the character of the mole, he felt that was the only way he could play it, but this particular DUmmie could be gone for a couple of days until the news died down and still plausibly come up with a good drug-related excuse.  Doesn't this person have any, more subtle moles?  DU already has enough Philosoraptors (hey, wait a minute...  Two consonants...  Nearer to z than a...)

The DUmmies are already big into the "paid provacateur" paranoia.  To the mole, what do you think is going to happen when and if you are found out?  Their long history of nastiness and hatred is indisputable to you and me, but the minute you get the pizza, that will all be swept under the rug.  They'll blame it all on moles.

A primary duty of a mole is to collect personal information on the little tyrants for our databases.  As long as this mole is fulfilling this duty, he/she is a good soldier.
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

The Democrat and Republican parties are simply the left and right wings of the same bird of prey.

Wow, Flippy, that seems to fit one particular DUmmie to a consonant that is closer to Z than A!

Note to lurking DUmmies:  Of course, this could all be just a VRWC Cointelpro operation to destroy your 'Best and brightest'...

I can neither confirm nor deny either the existence of such programs, or the moles in question. O-)

Of course it could. I don't deny that when Rove was training the Fictional Spirit-Guide Corps he taught tactics that were taken directly from the DUmmie playbook. The 'DUmmie' in question knows the truth. Maybe the real DUmmies have been laughed at and played for fools so often that it doesn't matter to them.
