This thread is for reaching a CC consensus on who deserves the title "American Asshole of the Year". The person selected must be an American. Here are my nominations.

For AAH of the Year, Category "Certifiable Creep" - Jerry Sandusky, hands down

For AAH of the Year, Category "Political Turd" - Slo Joe

For AAH of the Year, Category "Incompetence Personified" - John Boehner

For AAH of the Year, Category "Evil Incarnate" - Adam Lanza

For AAH of the Year, Category "Skidmark" - Julian Assange (although he gets street cred for making a laughingstock out of most of the western powers in his ducking various charges levied against him)

For AAH of the Year, Category "Political Hack and Shuck 'n Jiver" - Hillary Rodham Clinton for Benghazi. Honorable Mention to Eric Holder for F&F

I would disagree--look at what he's done in the name of gun control.  He's sent agents as far as AZ.

Adam Lanza's insanity will likely completely overshadow anything Bloomie will have done in the name of gun control. But whatever - I'll agree Bloomie's an asshole, but not to AAH of the Year level.

I don't think Piers Morgan qualifies - thank God - but I'm pretty sure Chrissy Matthews and Ray MadCow are fair game.  I'd be careful though; SE Cupp goes on MSNBC frequently enough to almost be considered employed by 'em.
