To hunt deer?

Or for that matter any other 30.06 chambered deer rifle?

What is illegal for hunting is, like California, the extended magazine. States have actually put a limit how many rounds you carry on you when you go hunting. The Garand is very much hunting legal.

What is illegal is the 30 round magazine.

(For the record, the Garand does not use detachable magazines either)

As I said, a little knowledge. Not because the gunnies will not go crazy if you call a clip a magazine and vice versa, they have and will continue to do such.

But seriously, both rounds are hunting legal across the United States.

Nads no longer supports gun ownership?  When did that happen?

Water is wet, fire is hot.
Must remember, gNads is schooling the unwashed primitives, that still think sticks are high tech weaponry.
We should paint all sticks black and watch the DUmp go into ban-stick mode. :whistling:

I have yet to see one of them .30-06 ARs, she must be farther along the arc than me.

Let's pretend that these pretend shootouts were actually real. She learned all about guns while trying not to get hit at these shootouts.

I had a job back when I was 19 years old in which I had to do work on a busy 5 lane street (4 traffic lanes and 1 turn lane). I had to try not to get hit by all the cars that were zipping by on the street. I guess, based on nads example, I should now be able to do all of my own auto mechanic work.

I believe most all of what she said comes from wikipedia. I think in the past that we've given her too much credit when we've said that she's nadined (Googled) something. I've come to the conclusion that Googling is too much like work to her. She just goes to wikipedia. It's like one stop shopping for her.

I've also come to the conclusion that if she really did know everything that she claims to know the collective sets of Encyclopedia Britannica and Encyclopedia Americana would hold their heads in shame for knowing so much less than the nads. Even Einstein, Tesla, and Edison would climb out of their graves to bow down to her far superior knowledge.

Some DUmmy should point out that a AR platform riffle has never been chambered for a .30-06. 7.62 X 51 replaced the 06 as a military cartridge and it is in a AR10 platform.

45. with all do respect according to Minnesota hunting laws duck hunters can only have 12 shells
on their person so your scenario would be illegal in any event

eta your allowed to load 4 times thats1 shell in the chamber and 2 in the magazine * 4
the type of gun you are speaking of here is also illegal to hunt ducks with a rifle would make no sense anyway there'd be nothing left of the duck, it is shotgun only

Never heard that one before.
3-rounds-in-the-gun limit is a Federal law for hunting migratory birds. true

One could hunt water-fowl with an AR, but I'd want a scope good enough to do head shots... and you can't shoot them sitting on the water anyway, so moot point.

229. here from the mn dnr

Hunting Restrictions
• Hunters are limited to 12 shells per trip in possession.
• Within one hour of hunt completion, each party must return their entry
permit to the check station and report number of geese harvested.
• Waterfowl and small game hunters must have guns unloaded and cased
except within 10 feet of assigned hunting stations.
• Hunters are limited to one trip to the blinds before noon, and one trip after
noon, per day

http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/hunting/2012/waterfowl.pdf
DUmpmonkey fails to mention that those restrictions only apply to Controlled Hunting Zones which number exactly six. (They're small, too.)
Of those six, only two, have the 12 shell limit.
Idiot is playing with smoke and mirrors and not being honest.

She's stupid enough, that she just might have Eugene Stoner AND John Moses Browning as a reception committee when she reaches the Pearly Gates.  Maybe Dr. Richard Gatling on the committee as well, just to round things out.

I got this sneaking suspicion that - just like the weapon that bears his name - you'd have to drive a stake through Mikhail Kalashnikov's heart in order to get him to move along to Valhalla. This was the biggest reason I didn't include him in the welcome committee.

One would hope he got the chance to do it while they are both still alive and someone has the good rig to capture the image. Alas he is in his 90's and shows no sign of slowing down. They do make them tough over there.

One could hunt waterfowl, not water-fowl, with an AR, if one were okay with violating a Federal law.

The deal about head shots is ludicrous.

With a legal firearm, one often must shoot cripples on the water, especially in the wake of the stupid Federal law prohibiting lead shot for waterfowl.

Very few hunters would shoot a healthy bird on the water because it defeats the purpose of waterfowl hunting, but I've never heard of it being illegal.

Unlike shot, which has a limited range, the bullet from a center fire riffle will continue on its path after exiting the deceased Ducks head.

There is a reason why certain types of firearms are prohibited in certain areas.

In MI, no center fire riffles below Bay City.
