Jesus was a socialist.
False.
my biblical skills are... lacking.
True. In fact, that might be the Understatement of the Year.
First of all, Jesus was in favor of the Ten Commandments. Therefore he is against socialism.
The Seventh Commandment is "You shall not steal." Socialism is a form of stealing. It is taking money from some people, against their will, by force, in order to give it to other people, or to pay their bills. It is legalized armed robbery and a form of involuntary servitude.
The Ninth Commandment is "You shall not covet your neighbor's house." Yet coveting the wealth of others who have more, scheming to take it away from them--class warfare, envy--this is the chief appeal of the Democrat Party.
Now you will quote for me the Book of Acts, the life of the early church:
Acts 2:44-45: "And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need."
Or again:
Acts 4:32, 34-35: "Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. . . . There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need."
And so forth.
But I say unto you, THAT "redistribution of wealth" was entirely VOLUNTARY. And it was done IN THE CHURCH, not by the state. And ever since, Christians in the church have always led the way in terms of charitable giving, in works of mercy. And if the government would get their hands off our money, we could do even more.
I happen to be a pastor and theologian. I teach the Bible. And if you, flying rabbit, were to turn in your assertion that Jesus was a socialist, with no biblical support whatsoever, and when all the evidence indicates the opposite, I would give you an F-. Epic Fail.
