nadin has me worried
« on: December 20, 2012, 07:37:46 PM »
Due to some of my duties as a fictional spirit-guide I've always had a fascination with archaeology and with Mesoamerican cultures. Even as a fictional spirit-guide I wouldn't claim to be an expert on the Maya, but I do think that I am probably more knowledgeable concerning the subject than the average person on the street. Because of this I've always had a good laugh when I've read articles or heard talk about the supposed Mayan Apocalypse on December 21. At least I had a good laugh until today when I came across this while reading another post here at the cave.

33. two things

1.- This current version of the long count does end where it ends (they found a longer stone with a longer count this year)

2.- You are correct. We know this since this BS, and BS it is, is a creation of the Western Mind. Bakums were months, period, And the end of the long count, means the end of THIS CYCLE, not the end of the world.

I congratulate you for getting it, by the way.

Me. end of the WORLD PARTIIIIIYYYYYY! on the 20th... com'on, any excuse to party.

I expect to wake up the next day, uncover the parrot's cages like every day, and have two conures beg for their waffles. Life will go on.

nadin says that the world will not end. Considering her track record of being consistently wrong, I'm now just a bit concerned. I know that even a blind hog can occasionally find an acorn, but still.

Maybe her being correct will start the apocalypse. Maybe at her end of the world partiy she will fire off one of the many weapons that she's collected from all the gun battles she's encountered. Like maybe a 6-gauge riffle with a 2 inch 5 millimeter adamantium shell that travels at 299,792,458 metayards per metric second that will rip open the space-time continuum. I don't know. I just know I'd feel safer if nadin would have predicted the end of the world.

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.

That weapon was also the brainchild of DUmmy DUmoTex, up there in his fire tower.

It came right after his 5.56mm incendiary anti-tank round, and his crowning achievement, the 50mm shoulder-fired machine gun riffle.

I need a time, people, I need a time.
I'm not to damn excited about sitting under the pear tree for hours on end, waiting for it to happen.

NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

I have just completed a DUFU on this topic, DUmmie FUnnies 12-21-12 (Nadin knows Mayan calendars), and I have a post here in the DUmpster about that too, which see.
Co-host (with PJ-Comix) of the DUmmie FUnnies, both on Free Republic and at the DUmmie FUnnies' own blogspot.

29. If violent games were truly part of it

Korea would be knee deep in blood. You ever seen any of their tittles? I am serious as a heart attack. In the US some of them would be classified adult only.

90. "You ever seen any of their tittles?"

I've seen plenty of tittles.
Big, small, young, old...you name it.
Not sure who's tittles you are talking about here though...

I know a guy that works for The Cartoon Network and he told me one time that you wouldn't believe the stuff they have to edit out of the Japanese anime cartoons to get them to be aired here in the US. They are far more violent and in some cases have more sexual undertones in them then anything in the US so how can it be that they do not have crazy people go off the deep end over movies and TV shows and we do? It;s not the movies or the guns its that crazy people that don't get help or get medicated do crazy things like kill people.
