That's it. I sold my Bushmaster today. Bought a bolt action rifle.
Had to add about 500.00 but It's something that I've wanted for a few years now.

Have a 6X24 Nikon, Dual illuminated scope ready to mount. It's a 5 round magazine. 1,000 yard shooting shouldn't be a big challenge now.

Wait until the DUmmy starts buying ammo for it. He's going to need a raise in his welfare to afford to shoot it.

2. Not sure what that bought you

It certainly isn't going to buy you any love from the gun haters since now you can just murder people from a long range.

But if that's what you wanted, more power to you. I believe that is your right.

I just find it interesting that your subject line implies that you sold the Bushmaster on principle but I'm not sure what that principle would be.

Liberals have no principles.

but an incidental one

The .338 Lapua Magnum (8.6×70mm or 8.58×70mm) is a specialized rimless bottlenecked centerfire cartridge developed for military long-range sniper rifles. The Afghanistan War and Iraq War made it a combat-proven round with ready and substantial ammunition availability. The .338 Lapua is a dual-purpose anti-personnel and anti-materiel round, but its anti-materiel potential is limited, due to the bullet's lower kinetic energy compared with that of the .50 BMG's 35.64-to-55.08-gram (550.0 to 850.0 gr) projectiles. The loaded cartridge is 14.93 mm (0.588 in) in diameter (rim) and 93.5 mm (3.68 in) long. It can penetrate better-than-standard military body armour at ranges up to 1,000 metres (1,094 yd) and has a maximum effective range of about 1,750 metres (1,910 yd). Muzzle velocity is dependent on load and powder temperature and varies from 880 to 915 m/s (2,900 to 3,000 ft/s) for commercial loads with 16.2-gram (250 gr) bullets, which results in about 6,525 J (4,813 ft·lbf) of muzzle energy.

Non-C.I.P. conforming British military issue overpressure .338 Lapua Magnum cartridges with a 91.4 mm (3.60 in) overall length, loaded with 16.2-gram (250 gr) LockBase B408 very-low-drag bullets were used in November 2009 by British sniper Corporal of Horse (CoH) Craig Harrison to establish a new record for the longest confirmed sniper kill in combat, at a range of 2,475 m (2,707 yd).

In addition to its military role, it is increasingly used by hunters and civilian long-range shooting enthusiasts. The .338 Lapua Magnum is capable of taking down any game animal, though its suitability for some dangerous game (Cape buffalo, hippopotamus, white rhinoceros and elephant) is arguable, unless accompanied by a larger "backup" caliber: "There is a huge difference between calibers that will kill an elephant and those that can be relied upon to stop one."

So which is more deadly... the Bushmaster or the Savage? Before you talk mass shooting, think back to the DC sniper who used an equivalent of the Bushmaster.

At ten feet, I'm pretty sure that the 338 would go through 26 people, if they were lined up in a row.

Many will will castigate you for:

- Not destroying it
- Buying a new one (just dumping it would have been fine)
- Buying an evil sniper rifle
- Not doing a hair shirt routine.

On the gun porn side, .338 Lapua is expensive to feed but has awesome ballistics.

You said "That's it." What's it? That statement implies that you had a revelation concerning the need to own a Bushmaster and your following statement declares that you've sold it. Conviction comes in degrees, I suppose. Had you been serious and had that truly been it, you would have destroyed the weapon instead of putting it in a position to possibly be used in a way that betrays your convictions.

You're awful cavalier with someone else's money.

I don't get how this is better than his prior gun, because it isn't. The gun he bought is a better gun, a better tool.

Want to know why the leftist DUches are all about the slippery slope with abortion and will defend it up to the child even being alive out of the womb?

That thread demonstrates that is how they think on all issues. Get that camel's nose under the tent in every issue.

I'm not sure what concerns me more about a mentally ill DUmbass having a Bushmaster or a long range sniper rifle. I guess the Bushmaster because I sure don't believe that 1000 yard boast. I've put tens of thousands of rounds down range and in the field. I'm proud with hitting my target at 500 yards. Could we have another Tomintrib that was former military trained sniper?

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

My club has a 600 yard range. I use a 308 for that distance.

They have a 1,000 yard range over at Oak Ridge, in Knoxville. I want to get a 300 mag for that distance. It's pretty exciting to hit a target from 1,000 yards. It's no easy task.

Hey, it's been the liberals that have been pissed off about not getting what they want that have been doing the shootings you know.

With the conclusions they jump to they must be exhausted.

I'm pretty certain as has been pointed out that the .338 lapua is far more dangerous the that .223 but then again I am also certain that the DUmmy that bought it hasn't got the talent to shoot as far as that round (.338 Lapua) will go.

Well, it is a thousand-yard round, I have to give the DUmmie (Or mole) that, but now he's the possessor of an evil sniper killing machine that nobody but the FBI has any legitimate business owning.

 :lmao:

And as noted, one expensive bitch to shoot, and if you actually want to group anything in a kill zone at that range, he'd better be handy at reloading, especially the arts of precision case sizing, bullet weight-matching, and exacting powder trickling to get the rounds to behave as-advertised.

He is full of shit!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Right? the scary black gun...it's black so it must be an assault gun.

My dad, bless his heart, is a moonbat. He's a well meaning moonbat but a barking moonbat non the less.

He makes all the same arguments that all moonbats make, little things like technicalities do not get in his way.

A black bushmaster semi auto with a folding stock is an assault gun.

I could be wrong, and if I am I imagine I'll be corrected, but if you don't have the option to select full auto then it isn't an assault gun or riffle or whatever .
