All guns must be licensed or would be considered illegal and a felony crime. There would be a grace period where people could voluntarily surrender their guns and get some form of monetary compensation, perhaps a tax break. After the grace period ended, hard-ass strict laws and rules would go into effect. In order to get a gun license, a full background investigation would be undergone and conducted, including a mental evaluation by a medical professional. Any warning signs or shaky background elements would disqualify the person from getting the gun license. And to procure a license would have to be for legitimate reasons such as necessary hunting or being in the military and having a weapon or being in some kind of security service or other kinds of reasons. You couldn't just own a gun "for the hell of it". Violations of having an unlicensed gun would be fully prosecuted and a serious offense.

Don't tell me it couldn't be done, because it could be. We went to the moon for gods sake, we could begin a gun round up and be successful. It would take time, but it would not be an impossible task.

They wouuld try.  Well, THEY wouldn't try.  DUmmies are penultimate cowards.  They would not put their fat asses on the line for anything they claim to believe.  They wouldn't hesitate to try and find some goons to do it for them, but they wouldn't do it themsleves. 

They're real problem is that a lot of states would have governments openly hostile to the government in Washington.  I wonder what the DUmmies would try then.  They can't even get their health care program implemented and they know it.

Of course they wouldn't even bother trying to change the constitution first because they only like the parts they can use to their advantage. And the only way something like this would work on a massive scale (plenty of D's own & collect guns, too) is to send the military to cities & towns across the country forcing people at the barrel of a gun. I doubt that's an order they would follow (and they ARE allowed to refuse an order that violates the constitution since they take a vow to protect that and not Democrats). Besides, that would mean they'd have to go against their own family, friends and neighbors.

My thinking exactly. First few times that LEOs came to take our guns and were shot it would be pretty damn hard to get them to keep going. For proof look at how many illegal guns are removed from inner cities when they know they will shoot back versus writing tickets to law abiding citizens.

I can pretty much guarantee that a minimum of 75% of the law enforcement community (including urban) would say GFY.

What I find hilarious is that some primitives think only law-enforcement should be able to possess guns (in addition to Treyyvon Martin's brothers and pals, of course; primitives don't care about illegal firearms, only legal ones).

I don't think primitives would care for a society where only the cops are armed; it'd be dangerous for them.
