Time for a permanent change to the DU Gun Control forum.
Delete the RKBA from it.

Stop treating guns like an issue about which two sides have equally valid points to make.

No more pro gun content. Period.

No more posts celebrating proliferation of guns and ammo or criticizing efforts to shut proliferation down.

No more stories rejoicing in how a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun.

No more discussions about which guns you like or recommend or which praise lethality.

Use this occasion to take a policy stand DU. Write it right into the DU rules.

Otherwise we will quickly return to business as usual with the imprimatur of legitimacy to positions which are highly corrosive to the welfare of children and other living things.

DU away with free speech and guns! 1st and 2nd amendemnt in one post! Brilliant!

2. I mostly agree

I do think there is a legitimate debate to be had on gun control amongst progressives, but the gungeon has become a cess pool where people can spout NRA talking points and praise murderers by cheering "self defense" even in cases where the shooters life did not appear to be in real danger. I don't think it is practical to ban guns entirely, but we clearly can't continue on the path we are on now with virtually no meaningful gun control either.

Debating gun laws should be allowed but celebrating gun violence should not, and many in the gungeon do seem to love gun violence especially when they can pretend a senseless death was an act of self defense or dream of becoming Bruce Willis and living a real life Die Hard.

They've made children terrified of strangers, and elementary schools like supermax prisons with armed guards.
