(Rant) My boss called today.... wants me to train 7 new workers for my bus rout

I think Linda hit it on the head.  All these drivers are being converted to part timers, due to Obamacare.  The bouncy author didn't get hit with that cluebat yet, though.

I can't see any reasonable circumstance that would encourage an employer to hire 7 people at minimum wage to replace the work of one employee making slightly more than minimum wage. 

Could be one of those situations where he is really only looking for two or three, and brings on seven as temps or probies to just keep the best.  Or, they may not all be for the DUmmie's route, it's just the simplest one in the book (How complicated a job would you trust a DUmmie with, after all?), and the manager is going to use it for training until they can handle it then shuffle them around.
